I turn on the Ole Miss game. The first thing I hear from Greg McElroy.

Iowa going to beat Penn State, and the game won't be particularly close. Penn State hasn't seen a defense anything like Iowa's this year. Iowa is the clear #3 team in the country. Etc. Etc. Mind you, this is the Ole Miss game that I had just turned on, not even a Big Ten game or one of ESPN’s studio opinion shows. He was over the top.

I guess there is no need to watch the Penn State game today. But in case McElroy's wrong, this is the kind of thing I like to file away the next time McElroy makes a proclamation.

Guy has probably not spent minute watching PSU. Not saying we will win but "not close"? Has Iowa seen a secondary like ours? Explosive player like Dotson? If we lose handily then bc TOs and lack of coverage by LBs. Otherwise I expect close brawl.

what about the Penn State defense against Iowa's offense? I don't get the logic. It has been our defense that got us to 5-0, not our offense.

McElroy makes it sound like our offense has been carrying us. That isn't even close to true. This is slightly better than the Kevin Thompson offense, at best.

PSU has a defense faster than anything Iowa has seen in a few years.Iowa’s scout team cannot emulate that.The difference will be stark

I posted the same quote. Would love to understand how he arrives at a big win for Iowa. He has not done much if any analysis because he prepped for Ole Miss vs Arkansas. He must think Iowa turns us over a lot and completely shuts down every weapon we have on offense. I guess he thinks their stellar O walks all over us.
