I was gonna go to the game, but now I'm thinking, "why bother?"

The selection committee has all but said that the conference champions won't get any added value for winning their conference championship. Which begs the question- if the selection committee isn't going to value the championship game, then why in the hell should I? Thanks for acknowledging that it's simply a money grab.

Why many aren't going, they hate us cause of JS, It's pretty obvious. Thank our BOT!! Why it's hard to even care anymore. It is what it is, I find it hard to believe unless we are preseason #1 and run the table we will be hard pressed to ever get into a playoff.

I am going to support the team. If fanbase support can help the program to an 11-2 record after this season then I'm all in. I don't care what the cock$uckers of the world do. They are always there and not a factor in my life choices.....those choices and the experiences they bring belong to me.

Where this team has been the last four years, this is quite an accomplishment.
Playing for the Rose are you kidding me, i would have never thought it.
I hope Michigan gets in at #4 and plays Bama.

If winning doesn't get you anything, why should losing cost you? Should not matter either way.

Why go? Because we could win the Big Ten. That's kind of a big deal. It's vital to our program and would be a big boost for recruiting and team confidence. And then if we don't go to the playoffs, our consolation prize is the Rose Bowl. Sounds good to me.

The bottom line is that we lost two games this year. If you lose two, you really can't complain too much if you get "snubbed." I'm kind of surprised that we are even in the conversation to be honest with you, but there just were not any dominant teams this year outside of Bama.

When/what/how did they say that winning the conference championship wouldn't add any value?

They hated us before JS.

"why bother?"

-to honor these kids who have fought through so much?
-to support this staff which has done the same?
-to watch Delany squirm when he presents the trophy to CJF?
-because "WE ARE" means something?

Those would all be reasons for me. If I could go, I certainly would.

Piss on the selection committee, go support the kids.

Exactly! I'm going because I'm excited for this team, both players and coaches, and for our fans. It has nothing to do with caring about the playoffs, which I don't, and nothing to do with whether I think we'll beat Wiscy. I'll have a boatload of fun win or lose (more if we win, of course :D ), and I'll be cheering like crazy for Nittany Nation from ding to dong!

Hello! We win the Championship game we are either in the playoff's or the Rose Bowl! What is not to like? After the Michigan game, if presented with these two options, you would incredulous and joyous.

We're in the discussion because we have the best win in college football this year.

And this is the thinking I was worried about. If you don't think there is a chance for the ultimate prize why bother? Except there is a chance, there's always a chance, and all you guys are crying in your beer. Pathetic.

I'm going because its one more time to watch this team play. Its a chance to win a Big 10 Title. Its a chance to either get into the playoffs or go to the Rose Bowl. To me this is huge.

We have yet to be to a Big 10 championship game so I'm not taking this one for granted. You never know what tomorrow brings.

And if we get snubbed for the playoffs I'll still head to the Rose Bowl (or whatever bowl) to support the team.

He we are 10-2 and absolutely relevant to college football again...only 5 years after they tried to kill us. And yes I said "we" and "us" because like Franklin says its another chance to get the family back together again. I'd like to think I'm part of the family that bleeds blue and white.

I am going to support the team. I think even being in this game is a miracle considering everything that has happened in the last 5 years. I am taking my 12 yo son who is crazy about Penn State football and we are going to have a great time. The fact that my favorite steakhouse is in Indy doesn't hurt either. Oh and when we win my son and I will be going to whatever bowl game they go to.

Why go? Because I want to celebrate the fact that baby dick Emmert couldn't bring this program down no matter how hard he tried.

Couldn't agree more. Bleeding blue and white for fourty years. Even in the good days these opportunities didn't come along all that often. Let's enjoy this unexpected ride and hope it's the beginning of a vibrant future. Isn't it fantastic to be relevant again, and to actually look forward to the rankings every week, and checking to see who we need to win and lose? It's great to be back in the top 10 again, instead of the TCUs, Baylors et al of the world
It was a surreal feeling to be in the Beaver Saturday when we found out that OSU won, and what was now within our grasp. For us older fans, it was a long time coming. So to hell with the committee, if they want mich they can have them. Let's win Saturday and know we are the conference champs. No one can take that from us. Not even the BOT.

He brought it down on the base that these kids goal is to win a National Title and they never will, every committee member will always have a dilema for us. Don't be shocked if we have to play the officials big time Saturday.

The game is designed to crown the B1G champ, not to ensure a playoff spot. That said, OSU used it in 2014 to make it to the big show. PSU wins impressively, it could happen. Good luck.

I might book a flight in the AM. I have a lot of shit to do, but it can wait...

It's also tremendous exposure and offers a trophy our staff can leverage into future recruiting.

How many kids on this team committed during the beginning of the dumpster fire and you wouldn't make it to Indy to help them win a Big Ten Championship because of the playoff committee? That's absolutely ridiculous.

I can guarantee the kids on this team care about winning that Big Ten trophy more than they care about any bowl game we might go to.

With what these kids have had to endure and the sacrifices many of them made committing to Penn State, it would be a travesty if Penn State fans didn't make some sacrifices to fill Lucas Oil this weekend.

I'm flying to Chicago and driving down.

I'm going because I live in Michigan and its close.
I'm going because I have said for years watching this game "one day, PSU will be there and your damn right I will be too" Just so happened that is this year to my shock and every one else's including the Sparty and Michigan fans I am surrounded by
I'm going because this program was left for dead by the NCAA and every media hack in the world
I'm going because these kids stuck with a program they did not have to because they believed in this program as much or more than you and I do
I'm going to try to bring the PATERNO trophy back home where it belongs
I'm going because I bleed Nittany Blue and White
I'm going because I still get goose bumps when I see PSU players come out onto the field like when I was a little kid in Rochester NY watching PSU
I'm going because I want to cheer, sing the fight song, high five, laugh with, and say WE ARE..PENN STATE...THANK YOU....YOUR WELCOME with other Nittany fans
I'm going because I AM and WE ARE PENN STATE
