Idiocracy.

Well, this brings to mind the prevalence these last few days about the Bleacher Report article on Saquon Barkley. It contains a non-factual Sandusky reference and yet it's been posted three or four times without any mention of this.

Following up on the "Idiocracy" post, if you don't recognize that we have reached that point, you haven't been paying attention (Of course, based on the following facts, you probably have not been paying attention).
Just over the last 15 years, the attention span of the average American has decreased by over 30%. The average attention span is now just over 8 seconds. As has often been cited, that is an attention span just slightly shorter than that of the average Goldfish.
When presented with written information, those people who contend that they now have full understanding of the information, on average have read less than 25% of the words.
The average college age American now reads and comprehends information at what was an 8th grade reading level just a generation ago.
According to a longitudinal study at Columbia, Logical Reasoning skills among US adults has declined at precipitous and "accelerating" levels over the last 20 years.
If this data doesn't scare you, just observe any contemporary political debate, or any off-topic discussion on social media or on message boards (Like this board. The Kaepernick discussion would be a good example).
If you have read and understood the 192 words written above - which should have taken approximately 49 seconds, and applied critical analysis skills to those words, congratulations. You are in the top 5% of your cohort with regard to the willingness and ability to process information.
If you have not, and read less than 30% of those words, and applied no logical or critical analysis whatsoever, feel free to respond with a critique - either supportive or in rebuttal - of the data you neither read nor understood. That would place you in the 95% majority.
In the meantime, "Don't bother me. I'm 'batin."

Run that by me again.

I mentioned it immediately. Stopped reading the article after I saw it.

You think Einstein walked around thinking everyone was a bunch of dumb-shits? Now you know why he built that bomb.

Needs bullet points!

I heard an interview with Mike Judge some years ago and he said the idea for this movie occurred during a trip to Disneyland with his two young children. They were waiting in line for an attraction and two mothers with kids in front of them got into an argument that degenerated into a fistfight.

My favorite scene in the movie....

"Don't worry scro, plenty of 'tards lead kick-a$$ lives." I know it's insensitive but I laugh my ass off every time.
Loved the Dr's office and Courtroom scene. And great use of Office Space cast throughout

How's it hangin' Ese

A perfect illustration of your point is "The Cars that Made America" series on the history channel. Its very similar to "The Men Who Made America". These shows perfectly demonstrate the dumbing down of America. You could easily read the history of these men and their accomplishments but nah, let's dress some folks up in period costumes, add 10 words of dialog and parade them around with a few grunts and a few grownup looks and wala.......you have an ass kicking documentary. It's laughable and not necessarily accurate. (The portrayal of the Homestead strike comes to mind)

More likely he read a copy of C M Kornbluth's "The Marching Morons" and it stuck in his subconscious memory. While there are differences in the stories there is a huge common theme. And Kornbluth saw it 40-50 years before Judge did.
