when you need to run the football; you cannot win. Franklin is so consumed with the " explosive PLAY" . The day he arrived in Happy Valley He divorced himself from the power game. Every now and the you see a glimpse or a hint of power with a full house backfield or multiple TE formations. I recall Bill O'Brien running the up tempo " NASCAR" . Up tempo is effective.; this 30 seconds between plays and looking at the sidelines only gives the Defense a chance to set. Franklin need to steel some playbooks.

The running game was very good today. Our receivers are not good enough to capitalize on it.
Once it was established that we had no perimeter threat the result was inevitable.

The quarterback was as much of an issue as the receivers. Sorry. It's obvious now.

I don't disagree, however if your receivers can't sneak open now and again when your gashing a team with the run game, they are the problem. There couldn't be a better scenario for the reviewers to make a play than that 1st quarter.
The drop at the goal line was a 4 point drop. The receivers have to help a developing QB, it's a must for success in today's game.
