If you could ask Mark Emmert one question in a public forum, what would it be?

Had a dream last night that I was at an event in Old Main. Out of nowhere, in walks Mark Emmert with a whole entourage of NCAA people. They were giving fake smiles and mingling as if nothing had ever happened.

Found myself standing next to him, so I turned and said, "Excuse me, are you Mark Emmert?"

People got quiet in anticipation of a confrontation. Nervously, he said yes.

"President of the NCAA?" I asked.

He nodded and said yes.

And just as I was about to ask my question, I woke up.

So, let's say you suddenly find yourself in the exact same scenario. No matter how big or small, what's the first question that jumps to mind?

Mark

Can you feed me some warm Ovaltine and sing me a lullaby and get me back to sleep so I can finish this dream?[/

Emmert is a gutless douche. He likes the attention he gets when he speaks from the safety of a podium but God forbid anyone confronts him to make him justify what he says. IIRC, when Franco Harris tried to ask him some questions at an event, Emmert made a hasty exit. That shows the character (or lack thereof) he has.

I'd ask why he came down hard on PSU who had no victims report anything directly to administrators yet he didn't come down on MSU who had many victims report abuse to administrators.

Or why did he coerce PSU to sign a consent decree by threatening the death penalty.

Or why he lied about collaborating with the Freeh investigation.

Or why he accepted Freeh's "opinions" without further review and without even interviewing Paterno and other key players.

First question that comes to my mind isn’t a question to Emmert. I’d ask the guy holding the lie detector whether it’s all ready for ChiTownLion’s question.

This is a pretty good question, but I agree with Barry:

Just kick him square in the nut-sack.
When he falls to the floor.... drop kick him with a knee to the dental work.

Just remember to say "with all due respect" first. That way it's all legal.

This...
just disregard the Paul McCartney refrences. LOL.

Don't waste the opportunity w a Question.

Just kick him square in the nut-sack.
When he falls to the floor.... drop kick him with a knee to the dental work.

Then piss on him.

Then, as a sign of respect and consideration, ask him if he'd like a drink (assuming it is an open bar - which it likely would be, for a soiree involving Suits the likes of Emmert)
Emmert has a nut sack?? When did that happen??

How was Franco Harris able to play College Football in his late 40s over a decade after retiring from the NFL?

The OP asked a serious question. There were almost no serious answers except for bdgan. With all that’s transpired I would have hoped for some more intelligent replies.

Dude, Mark Emmert believed that Franco Harris, a star of the 1970s Steelers dynasty who graduated college in 1972, was on the 1998 Penn State Football team. The guy is an absolute moron who merits no serious response whatsoever!

The noose or drawn-n-quartered?

Exactly how much of the 8 million did Freeh kick back to you personally?

I can answer these questions:

1. Why Coerce? There was no need, the board hated Joe, it was the perfect storm to get rid of them, glad I could help them.
2. Collaborating? I gave him his conclusion first, he did the rest of the work.
3. Why Accept Freeh? Why not? See 1 and 2.

Mocking questions are the intelligent reply, because no real question would generate any meaningful response whatsoever. Might as well make fun of the POS.

There are a ton of questions I would like to ask ... so many that I would break them down by importance:
  1. Many about how he handled the Sandusky scandal like the ones bdgan brought up.
  2. The huge disparity in the handling of PSU vs. MSU again similar to the question above
  3. Handling of other schools such as UNC and Baylor. The one question here I would definitely ask is "If boosters paid non-student athletes would that okay them to pay student athletes since that is the logic you used in the UNC academic scandal?"

Thanks for posting that and making my blood boil.:D

It kills me how Emmert acted like it was a gut wrenching decision which was made by the executive committee based on the Freeh opinion when committee member Ed Ray admitted he never even read the damned thing. Yeah, it was a real deliberative process.

My question for Emmert would be, "Why do you lie when asked about Penn State??"

" What would you say today to both Lou Anna Simon who was so critical of Penn State and now directly involved in her cover up of the largest scandal ever in College Athletics along with Ed Ray who admitted albeit being forced to that though he was one of the key architects in setting the unprecedented sanctions against the University he never read the Freeh Report..." ?
