during a play this weekend. I was just thinking what a terrible shame that would be, if something untoward were to happen during some game in which PSU is not involved, and Mr. O'Neill's femur would be snapped like a matchstick.

That would be so awful for him.

My femur got snapped like a matchstick in a 9th grade football game at Sheffield High School (up on top of the hill).
I was a LB, running laterally and back and right into an illegal block - helmet to femur and snap.

I thought about a PSU player accidentally running into ONeil as well lol

I'm almost afraid to ask what year and who the opposing school was. I played for Eisenhower.

Sometimes I wonder how someone writes crap like this.
My work, unfortunately, requires that I be able to visualize, and write clearly about, horrific injury. It also requires that i listen as witnesses describe their, and others' injuries in excruciating detail.

I would say though, that words cannot capture what a video camera can capture.

Every year, the players get bigger, stronger, faster. Every year Mr. O'Neill gets smaller, weaker, slower.

Perhaps he should retire.

But O'Neill hides in the offensive backfield away from most contact. The Umpire (Jeff Carr) however, the one who suddenly started calling holding on PSU at a noticeably inopportune time, is more vulnerable in the defensive backfield. It wouldn't bother me if he got steamrolled and seriously injured so was to not be able to abet O'Neill again.

I have zero tolerance for overt corruption.

No matter how we feel about his refereeing, I would not desire an injury for the man. Let's have some class.

Yes... airbag slammed left arm into door and literally snapped it in half. First gen airbag. I still have 2 x 8" plates and 22 screws all along left forearm. Happened in 1998. I'm 54 now and will need to get the hardware out in near future as bone start to shrink.
Wow.
