Greetings all,

Forgive me if this has already been answered/addressed, but do any of you have an update on the status of Rasheed and Berge? I was really looking forward to Rasheed's match in the final and hope he's 100% for the NCAAs. I'm clearly not a PSU fan, but I always want to see the best men on the met vying for the title...and I think Rasheed is the only one who will give Martin a challenge. Thanks for any updates anyone can provide.

Expect Cael to post an update any time now.

Hey, thanks for dropping by. You are getting a lot of cryptic answers not because you are an Iowan fan, it's simply because you would have an easier time finding out the nuclear launch codes, then to get Cael to give you something solid on injuries.o_O

Launch codes. Lol.

Scuttlebutt around the arena was:
Berge = ankle tweak
Rasheed = knee tweak
Both minor.
FWIW

Apparently, Rasheed getting his knee scoped after NCAAs.

Also heard “Micic = partially torn ACL”, which sounds like a big deal to me. We shall see.

Bumps and bruises, even slightly worse than that, Dan Monthley and crew will have these kids ready. No team escapes the injury bug, just hope all wrestlers from all teams get to chase the dream.

That's what is so good about having this week off prior to the Nationals. Almost everyone that wrestled in conference championships gets dinged up in some way and needs the time to recover. Just tough on us, the uninjured fans!

Sorry, you kinda stepped into a minefield there -- if a minefield were loaded with whoopie cushions instead of explosive devices.

Cael's medical reports have been a running gag around here for a few years. He's a master at saying just enough to make people think he said something, without actually saying anything.

And insider reports on these things tend to be sparse, especially in between postseason tournaments.

Compared to the tight ship Cael runs, Bill Belichick is the captain of the SS Minnow.

And yet somehow we've managed to win 7 of 8, and are heavy favorites this year. Think big picture, and trust the "captain" of this tight ship.

Oh, I think El jefe is a believer. Others on here, however, would like to see full doctor's reports, X-rays, and MRIS. With or without those, though, they still tend to become internet doctors, whether or not they slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Yeah I didn't get that from it at all.. was a weird reaction to your OP.. Message board misunderstanding...
Oh I definitely saw his blood pressure rising, hands trembling, and and fire coming from his eyes, as he was writing that message.:rolleyes:

No doubt at all here. Quoting his message was not saying otherwise. Removed the quote to eliminate confusion.

That plus what am I gonna do about it anyway?

Maybe it would be different if I were Spyker and could consult my doctor cousin from Oklahoma City or the one in Cleveland while simultaneously in rows 3 and 14 at Stillwater and at the home hockey match.

Also, given a choice, I'd rather the opposition not know. Competitve advantage. If that means I don't know, I'll live.

Seriously, that's what you got from my post?

Just a misunderstanding given what you said later. I took it as you were refuting what Jefe said as if he was criticizing Cael. I didn't think he was criticizing him at all and just stating a fact and explaining the gag. Given that, I thought you were being oversensitive to Cael being criticized.

Reading your post as an add on, rather than a refute gives it a totally different tone.

Back to our regularly scheduled wrestling conversation........

Both have missed time this year so while everyone ( wrestlers, coaches, fans ) should be disappointed, they should be back. We didn’t need the points, both wrestled pretty well ( to seed ) and the big show is on the horizon. The medical team managed Nolf last year, trust has been earned.

Yet according the Ryan, Koll, JRob, and others we need to have an additional meat grinder in there a few weeks prior to the Conference meatgrinder.

Nit, not that I'm on board with the natl duals, I do agree that there very easily should or could have a resemblance to what we did a few years back (when NickS was injured). I have no issues with saving the last week in the season to wrestle a match to help ID the #1 dual team. I liked what OKSt and Iowa did having a big dual at the end. I know the last series of natl duals didn't work out (oranges) but it would be good if it did. I would be ok with some type of bigten championship wrestle off - in the event there were two undefeated teams who didn't wrestle each other..
To be clear, I am not for a whole weekend of duals, just the one match set up we had (that failed).

HIPAA places significant limits on release of patient information.
I imagine there is some room for interpretation. Some.

Thank you, my friend. It sounds like Cael and Brands both have that in common. :)

Don't like hearing that about Micic. That weight class is absolutely loaded at the top and I want to see the fireworks. I think Suriano will walk away with the gold, but I want to see the best the competition has to offer.

I own a business that requires us to follow HIPAA. There is no room for interpretation. You don’t discuss anything with anybody unless the client/patient/guardian specifically allows it in writing. End of story. Failure to comply in my business means loss of state license. HIPAA is serious stuff.

Since you brought up Jersey Boy, anyone else think he looked like a drag queen in his post Big Ten interview. Can't wait to see how busted up he'll look.after a MMA fight.

LOLOLOL. Not sure where your head is at. I didn't think drag queen at all. Looked more like a busted up wrestler to me. ;)

Right, but the law doesn't generally apply to info provided by people who are not medical providers or their staff. Meaning, if one finds out the info from another source (patient, family, friend, personal observation), I do not believe such sharing violates HIPPA or any other medical info law. And, there are plenty of such people with most of this information. They may chose not to provide for personal privacy or competitive advantage reasons, but such choice is not demanded by HIPPA.

I agree. I liked the season ending singular "big" dual. Not much of a fan of the match against Buffalo backups.

If one doesn’t have explicit permission to repeat something heard from family or friends, no way I’d repeat it. Following HIPAA law is part of my livelihood, but just as important are keeping personal matters private in the event I hear something from another source.

I think that when it comes to true medical issues HIPPA is in place for who the medical staff can release information to. I am certain that the wrestlers name their trainers and coaches as having permission to know that information. Penn State than has an obligation to maintain that information to be private. However a private person that finds out information thru conversation with friends or teammates would have no obligation to keep it private.
Last year I found out about non medical information about Suriano's transfer and posted a vague description about it. Within an hour the thread was removed.
Remember I know the same people Smalls knows.
It seems that this Board has decided not to allow third party knowledge to be posted if it involves controversy or privacy issue.
Maybe that's the correct thing to do.
