FB Recruiting WeAre....Better -- 2026 DB Matt Sieg commits to Penn State!

Tough time to announce a commitment. It got lost in the annual disappointment of losing to OSU. I hope the young man has a great experience on and off the field at PSU. Maybe he'll even get to experience Haley's cometlike experience of beating the Buckeyes once in his career. Welcome, Matt!

Right before kickoff lol
Welcome aboard and best of luck to Matt.

Matt's #1 ranked Class A Fort Cherry Rangers won their 1srt round playoff game 56-14.

Sieg as QB had 11-166 1 TD.

Other notable PSU commits who also participated in WPIAL Football Playoffs Friday night: RB Tikey Hayes 22-176 3 TD's in the 'Quips 34-14 victory. RB Kemon Spell 26-274 2 TD's in McKeesport's 34-11 win.

This kids father is from the state college area and Matt is a fantastic athlete. Starter on basketball and baseball teams as well as runs track. Top five athlete in the WPIAL, probably a free safety with his ball skills and speed

I've seen him play baseball in person and football on TV. I've posted before that he definitely can be a Cooper DeJean type of player. I also don't believe that you ever will have to worry about him getting a 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. He'll bring a much needed Western PA blue collar demeanor to this program like Paul Poluszny and Sean Lee did. Finally. my guess is that this kid grew up as somewhat of a PSU fan and considers it to be a privilege to wear the uniform.

Agree 100%, going old school western pa here, he’s a bigger/slightly faster Derek Bochna.

Uh....no.

Andrew Guman. At best.

We need wide receivers.
This kid will be a multi-year starting safety who probably will be a captain and smart enough to call defenses. He also won’t let the team down by showboating and committing a bunch of selfish penalties. He’s one of the top players in PA. What more do you want in a player? You win with kids like him.

Yep. Sieg is just a "player". Sees the field. Anticipates plays and throws. Plays smart and to the whistle.

Jaylen Reed, without the penalty for handing the ball to his Mom. His parents expect him to play smart and don't care about a ball..........

Like I said before, this team could use a lot more Paul Polusznys and Sean Lees, and I believe this kid will be like them.

The current defense, while their stats may be good, has been completely undisciplined all season, not only with penalties but their actual play, like the total abandonment of defending the perimeters against OSU.
