Mobility can cover for a lot of weaknesses. If you can't read defenses but your mobility lets you extend plays, you can still break down defenses. If you can't throw the ball precisely, you can buy time and let your receivers scramble to get separation. Or just run for TDs. As soon as defenses have to assign people to spy your QB, that receivers who aren't getting covered at some part of their route.
One of the mysteries to me about James Franklin was that he could see the power of a mobile quartterback -- he won a B1G title with Trace McSorley. And then for some reason Franklin kept recruiting bigger, progressively less mobile QBs -- Clifford and now Allar. The pocket quarterback is basically a dodo bird. Football has moved on.
