Anyone have experience with HOTWIRE FUSION, now being installed in our area. Currently have Comcast, everything works, really don't want to change but we have no choice. Thoughts on HOTWIRE FUSION?? Thanks for any comments,

Is it possible for me to just pay for Comcast/Xfinity on my own, the HOA has this deal with Hot Wire? I'm too old to change, learn a new system? Thank you,
Those types of terms and conditions would be spelled out specifically in your HOA.

If you know someone who is a member of the HOA that would be a good question for them. If not, perhaps a friend who is an attorney could provide you with specific guidance based on your agreement.

Thanks for your input, spoke with Comcast, since each home is individually wired Comcast feels I can retain Comcast service so long as I pay the basic fee to the HOA and then, of course, pay Comcast. At this point I'm too old to learn something new.

FCC regs state they can't restrict your ability to get tv, at least not easily. As others state, just keep your Comcast, but you'll still have to pay your HOA fees. Now, if you're paying Fusion separately you can probably fight paying it, but you're going to have to cite the FCC stuff, and maybe you can throw in a little Disability Act depending on how creative you get, although sending a letter with the FCC should trump the HOA since it's federal and HOA's are governed by state laws.

I was going to ask if you were willing to incur the redundant cable/internet costs to retain your Comcast service. As it turned out that solution was acceptable for you.

To my knowledge, Comcast does not offer group discount packages to HOA's so they are not a direct competitor to Hotwire Fusion.

Since you will be required to pay for the redundant service from Hotwire Fusion, if they actually place connection ports in your home you can always experiment with the service at your leisure if you're feeling adventurous.

Regardless, I'm glad that it worked out for you.

As posted earlier, Comcast does not have HOA packages. BUT, you can have Comcast all the time and anywhere you live. I have done this for over 20 years in Naples, FL gated communities. The HOA thinks they have a better dollar package for the entire community, but here, the Fusion service and package is terrible. If you are approached to connect Fusion in your home - deny their service people because you do not have to allow their connection. The next owner will make a decision on a TV and computer connection.
BUT, you will have to pay the HOA (monthly) charge for their Fusion contract - make sure it is competitive and no kickbacks.

Thank you, I'm in the Naples area, gated.

The problem here is that high speed internet (the carrier) is intertwined with content (entertainment provider). What many are doing is separating the two. You select a high speed provider and that is almost invisible to the end user. There are only two issues to consider besides price: Speed and uptime.

you then select an entertainment provider. These include options like Hulu, Youtube, Sling, Fubo and more.

This way, you can swap out your internet provider at will while keeping your entertainment provider. In fact, you can take your entertainment provider with you. If you have a smart TV, you can also accessorize with Apple, HBO/Max, Netflix and any other content provider that streams via an app you download onto your smart TV.

Thanks to all who have helped.
