Where do Ohio State, and Penn State go. We , Penn State , should get one of the minor bowls with our record. Ohio State to the Outback and an SEC team?

I would bet Ohio State goes to the Rose Bowl while Iowa heads to the Citrus Bowl. Per Big Ten guidance, Iowa can't fall lower than that. The question is Michigan State. Do they get a NY6 birth? If they don't, we could end up in a really bad bowl game.

O$U ranked #6 by committee. They’re going to Rose Bowl.
Yep, our fate rests in Michigan State's hands.

NY6 - Assuming OSU to the Rose Bowl, Fiesta and Peach have one open slot.

Three teams are in

Notre Dame
Pittsburgh
Baylor

Who gets the fourth will determine where we go.

Wake Forest
Michigan State
Oklahoma State
Oklahoma
Iowa
BYU

Selfishly, I hope it's the Music City Bowl. Short drive to the game.

Baylor will be in the Sugar Bowl. That basically leaves Michigan St and the two Oklahoma schools vying for two spots.

OSU is going to Rose Bowl no dobut.
This doesn't make sense to me. I was told by everyone back in 2019 that the loser of the BIG championship game deserved the Rose Bowl, if the winner was headed off to the CFP. Hence, in 2019, an inferior Wisconsin team was selected over a better PSU team. Wisconsin was even moved up in the ranking after a loss to legitimize this view.
Now, since its O$U on the outside, the rules have changed.

Add this to the endless amount of reasons why the CFP and sacrosanct "committee" is just the old AP pollsters in different clothing.

O$U doesn't deserve the Rose Bowl, they didn't win any divisions or championships this year.

This is the BIG10 rules change for the Buckeyes.

Big Ten is now the ultimate decision make once a limited set of hard rules have been fulfilled. There are a number of soft rules in place that back them up, one of which is the highest rated Big Ten team goes to the Rose Bowl. Regarding the Big Ten championship game loser, they can't fall lower than the Citrus Bowl in the years the Big Ten fills a spot. This makes Michigan State the lynch pin.

Iowa remains a farce, as was shown once again yesterday. No way they go to the Rose Bowl.

Nor should they.

If you look at the Big 3 -- Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State -- it's hard to make a case for how Iowa is better than any of them. None of those teams lost to a team that Iowa beat. Meanwhile, Iowa lost to a Purdue team that Ohio State destroyed, and they lost to a Wisconsin team that Michigan destroyed.

Big Ten East far, far better this year. Iowa was very lucky to avoid OSU, Michigan, and Michigan State on the schedule.

Jesus, OSU will be the highest ranked B1G team outside the Playoffs - by far (I believe 6th). Ask yourself - and be honest - if you're on the Rose Bowl selection committee, would you want the 6th ranked team or one that just got curb stomped 42-3. The top 3 - and maybe 4 if Clifford is healthy - are all in the East - UM, OSU, MSU and PSU

Big difference between 2019 and 2021.

2019: Wisconsin went into the B1GCCG ranked ahead of PSU. They played #1 OSU respectably, even leading in the third quarter. Wisconsin finished as the 2nd highest ranked Big Ten team.

2021: Iowa went into the B1GCCG ranked well behind OSU. They got demolished by Michigan, losing by 39. Iowa finished as the 4th highest ranked Big Ten team.

I honestly thought we were better than Wisconsin in '19, but a reasonable case could be made otherwise. I don't think any reasonable case can be made for Iowa making this year's Rose Bowl.

UM demolished O$U this year as well. Their offense may be better than Iowa's, but the O$U defense is terrible.

Edited : I meant the defense is terrible, not the offense.

Aren't you a Michigan fan? Why would you be upset if O$U doesn't make the Rose Bowl? I figure you would be ecstatic.

Jesus, O$U is not riding some great wave and just missed the BIG Championship game. They were crushed by UM. They may be higher ranked, but they are the exact opposite of Iowa. Great offense, terrible defense.

Plus, these are the rules as explained to PSU in 2019. Sorry you don't like them - I didn't see a lot of support for PSU in 2019.

Doesn't matter what you or I think, the Bowls are set

But is there any doubt that OSU is the better team? If Iowa did a respectable job against Michigan, I think they are in the Rose. But with that beat down and considering the overall OSU performance, it is tough to argue Iowa deserved the Rose.
