KF lost control of this program and his coaching staff a few years backI understand the fan base calling for BF’s firing. But do they really think KF deserves firing? Is someone else going to come in and win, year in and year out, like KF has? At Iowa?
A few years back? They’ve put together two 10-win seasons on either side of 6-2 on the Covid year. If winning 10 games a year is losing control…KF lost control of this program and his coaching staff a few years back
BF is just one of many that need to go to fix Iowa Football... the house needs ckeaned. KF is lost somewhere in the past.
But even their good years are completely unwatchable. Can you imagine paying all that $ to watch zero TD games? To just hang out for hours hoping for a pick 6 or blocked FG?A few years back? That was then this is now. The staff has changed. KF is at the state where all coaches end up that stay past their prime.A few years back? They’ve put together two 10-win seasons on either side of 6-2 on the Covid year. If winning 10 games a year is losing control…
Pretty sure winning football is worth the money but to each their own. I'd rather watch that than a game in the 40s or higherBut even their good years are completely unwatchable. Can you imagine paying all that $ to watch zero TD games? To just hang out for hours hoping for a pick 6 or blocked FG?
BF won’t be easy to replace. Where else can they find an immature clown to throw himself on the ground and wiggle around in front of the refs while a Penn State player lies injured on the turf?I understand the fan base calling for BF’s firing. Hmmm…I guess they can steal one (or both) of their spastic wrestling coaches for gamedays.
Well…something had to be done to slow down that lighting-quick offensive juggernaut!clearly the fake injuries worked. Iowas offense still hasn’t recovered.

Main problem clearly is the O...is it due to "Iowa being Iowa", or to Kirk's nepotism? The Hawkeyes have a history of being pretty good under a series of HC's, so my vote is nepotism.
Iowa's defense is #3 in Scoring Defense only giving up 9.8 PPG, but they're only 3-3. If you take a look at the rest of the Top 20 in this stat, they're all undefeated or 1-loss teams. This tells you how dreadfully putrid Iowa's Offense is - Iowa's 14.7 PPG is dead last in the b1g and 127th in FBS.
their offense being so putrid influences this a bit. You don’t need to score many points to beat them.

So--Jay Paterno but in Iowa?2008-2010 New England Patriots (OQC)
2011 New England Patriots (TE)

2018–2021 Iowa (OC/TE)
2022–present Iowa (OC/QB)
There isn't one thing in this resume that says, prior to 2017, "let's give this guy a P5 offensive coordinator job!" This is strictly nepotism. Pop giving his kid a job trying to set him up for the passing of the corn husk crown and bubble gum.
Certainly, there isn't ANYTHING on his resume that would incline ANY AD to hire Brian as an OC in the future either. Between his name and resume, he's probably a good TE coach and perhaps not bad working with the line. That's it.
So--Jay Paterno but in Iowa?
Agreed--neither was qualified and simply given a job because daddy wanted them to be relevant.1990–1992 Virginia (GA)

1995–1998 Penn State (TE/RC)

Jay is truthfully an even worse example of nepotism.
Hayden did pretty well there and had an amazing staff under him. Iowa City is a great college town. The fans are passionate. There's no reason you can't win at Iowa.I understand the fan base calling for BF’s firing. But do they really think KF deserves firing? Didn't people say the same thing about Nebraska?Hayden did pretty well there and had an amazing staff under him. Iowa City is a great college town. The fans are passionate. There's no reason you can't win at Iowa.
Michigan & Ohio St then everyone elseThere are some really bad teams in the B1G this year!
Yes he was, but Jay was a considerably better QB coach than Ricky Rahne was and way better coordinator (even if he was co-) than John Donovan. Brining them along to Happy Valley wasn't even nepotism, just plain old stupidity. Not sure what is worse.1990–1992 Virginia (GA)

Ohio State I can buy but I'd really like to see some data on Michigan being at the top of the Big Ten. A simple 5-10 year sample would be just fine, you can stretch it back to the start of the century if that helps.Michigan & Ohio St then everyone else

Blackledge on Full Ride with Childers and that guy that secretly eats at the Tavern:
Before Sat, Iowa was dead last in FBS for yds/game at 242.
Saturday vs Illinois? 222. Didn’t even reach dead last level.
