Not much difference between an "untested" true freshman with an awesome pedigree and a redshirt freshman with a great record inflated by crushing most overmatched opponents in Opens, but former gets no rank.I remember thinking if they can't rank Suriano, then why even have a preseason ranking
Preseason rankings for some of our guys were definitely screwy, but to their credit, most rankings folks stipulated that they don't rank true freshman, didn't have much to go on for RS freshman with without a body of work.
They all knew Suriano, Joseph, Massa, Zahid would be hammers, but needed to feel out the early season before flat-out guessing where to place the rookies.
It's not like they posted rankings having no idea who these kids were (unlike some of the computer algorithms rankings)
