USC called and said they will be canning Riley and JF is their #1 guy. JF tells USC I'll get back with you and next thing you know a contract extension.

If the Equity and Human Resources Committee is acting now, I hope that any contract amendment comes with performance bonuses that reflect the overall success of the program.

If CJF bring a National Championship home to Penn State, then he deserves to be the highest paid HC in college football.

The timing of this announcement is suspicious. The 12 team playoff format was announced more than a year ago. Why wait until now to amend Franklin’s contract?

We are lucky to have him as coach. If Franklin wants to win a national championship he would have a better chance going to a southern school. More defensive tackles down south I guess, although I think it's going to be more about which School has the most NIL now.

Makes sense, all of his contract incentives would have been based on a 4 team playoff before. He probably had a bonus for making the playoff, making the championship, and winning the championship. They likely revised it to give him performance bonuses for making the playoff, making a top 4 seed, making the round of 8, making the round of 4, etc.
