An altered state
There is a legend of a gold shipment that was lost in central Pa just before the Battle of Gettysburg. The story has circulated for decades. A group calling themselves Finders Keeprs has been searching for years. Well they think they found it near a small town in Elk County called Dents Run and notified the FBI. The rest is another huge mystery.

The FBI conducted a dig with great security. Heavy equipment, armored cars, a strict security zone. And denials they found anything. Finders Keepers say they have evidence that NINE TONS of gold is missing!

This is a great story. I’ve read a few articles on this in the past. It is strange the way this search played out. Used to fish this area growing up which adds to the story for me.

I had an 87 Dodge Charger. At a toll booth off the Garden State Parkway one time I dropped a handful of quarters between the seat and the console before I wrecked it about a year later.

Somewhere in a junkyard between the Susquehanna and the Delaware there's a good $1.75 in quarters. Just sayin'.

Hate to ruin everyone's night, but I've been searching through Dodge Chargers for years. I found that buck 75 and it's already spent!

So the treasure hunters sued the FBI for information. First the FBI said they had no files. Then they said there were 17 videos. Now they say there are only four. The FBI is corrupt.

After taxes, Finder's Keepers would only get a buck 75!!!!!!!!!! Forget about it.

This entire saga stinks to high heaven. It makes no sense they wouldn’t be allowed to observe. In typical government fashion, they have created a problem out of thin air and one has to wonder why. The corruption runs deep.

It's been apparent for a number of years now that the FBI is corrupt and very political.

Why the hell would those guys think they should get to keep stolen/lost government gold.
It isn't their gold, its the american peoples gold. if it exists at all.

The saga continues. The FBI released more photos but they seem worthless. Lots of pics of trees. Still denying they worked through the night despite what witnesses said they saw and heard.

Pretty good article with info I didn’t know. Like it all started with a psychic. And that the Pa DCNR already did some digging in the area. Enough people saw extra activity by the FBI to prove their story inaccurate. And they way they are withholding information adds to the suspicions.

This going to make a great movie some day......

There's Shit Island between Port Vue and McKeesport that appears every year when the water is low in the Youghigheny river.

Two witnesses have come forward saying they saw dawn digging activity when the FBI claims no activity or equipment was there. Also saw three armored cars leaving area….. FBI said previously thst no armored cars were ever there.

Maybe they found a bobby-dazzler. Maybe a coat button from a Civil War officer? Or a rusty hinge that could have been from a wooden treasury chest?

I’m surprised at how easily the press just dropped this story and let it disappear. I have no idea if they did or didn’t find anything but there was apparently a lot of activity to find nothing. If they did find lost Civil War gold it’s a huge story.
