I don't know for sure but betting Ed started off the 2011-12 season ranked #2 behind Much from Stanford.

My view is Joseph won last year and this year. So he started the year number one and finished the year number one and will start next season number one. Who cares what happens during the season as Jason proved being the number three seed and won the title once again.

Zain, Bo, Nolf, Joseph all started number one and finished number one!

For that matter, who cares where they're ranked at the beginning of the year either? (Other than for fun discussion purposes.)

Peeseason #1 didn't keep Tomasello, Heil, and Moore from being pinned at nationals.
