Its time.

I am OK going with Allar, but I don't think that happens given JF's tendencies re: loyalty. Cliff didn't stay another year to sit. If Cliff isn't healthy, the decision is obvious; but, he will be back in when healthy.

Can he play linebacker?
Testeverde or Kelly?

If Allar can get a push on the defensive front, by all means start him.

Clifford is an average qb, he deserves the shot to try to keep this team going. All the goals are still in front of this team at this very moment whether people like it or not, albeit some of those goals are now not solely in the team's control. By all intensive purposes this team could still go 12-1, yes this is a reality. The starter needs to stay in tact, regardless of harbored thoughts. Play the guy who gives the best chance to win.
I'm not sure the team has a better chance to win the next two games without Sean as the starter. This is just a reality. I know everyone hated the Michigan game but Clifford wasn't the problem there.

I guess I watched a different game than most here but I didn't someone who is ready to play just yet. Another game like the one he had at Michigan and he's likely to lose all confidence.

Allar. This week. Starting.

Thoughts?

The wild card which I don't see many people talking about is Clifford's physical status. He left Saturday's game with what appeared to be a shoulder injury. So apparently we'll play the guessing game again this week as happened after last year's Iowa game.

But if Clifford is healthy (or mostly healthy), he'll be starting. No question in my mind. And he should. To bench him now would be a sign of panic. He didn't play well at all last Saturday, but he was far from alone in that regard.

The fact is, we're still looking at the possibility of a 10-win season, which would be very good by any measure. This is a make-or-break game against Minnesota...not the time to experiment with a new quarterback, even one with Allar's talent and gifts.

Yes start a not 100% Clifford. Likes he's not bad enough healthy.

7 for 19 6th year Sean?
I'm no Clifford supporter but geez oh man people do you not put anything into context?
Tom Brady and Aaron Rogers wouldn't have completed 50% of their passes in the Northwestern monsoon and windy Michigan Stadium. Seriously. Be real with yourselves.
The ball wouldn't stay on the tee at Michigan Stadium and kickers couldn't get the ball to the 10 yard line on kickoffs.
I actually threw football that windy Saturday morning, it was really hard to throw a good ball in any direction, side wind knocked it off line, into the wind needed an absolute perfect spiral and downwind it sailed on you.
Context people.

Every game its an excuse. What will be the excuse vs. Minne, that he was hurt?

Yeah I agree. Don’t dislike Clifford but spare me the excuses. Did the wind stop blowing when Michigan had the ball.
What did wind have to do with their 400 plus yards rushing. Clifford should have been better at linebacker? Clifford was far from the reason penn state lost. In fact it would have been worse without the few good plays he made. Penn states linebackers suck and the wr are terrible. However They will still win 10 games. As the big ten has only two good teams

I think we should put Clifford and Allar at strong side defensive end and mike linebacker. That will fix everything.
If Allar's arm is so strong he should have no problem fending off offensive tackles and setting the edge with it.

Our D-line sucked so we should keep our shit QB in? Makes sense.

Apparently Sean Clifford is the best quarterback on the roster.
Is that his fault?
He's only beaten out Tommy Stevens, Will Levis, Micah Bowens, Drew Allar, Christian V. & Beau P.
Maybe some of those guys should practice or play better, in order to beat out the guy ahead of them? You know, like how sports typically works.
This is major division college football, they don't play the worse player here, contrary to message board conspiracy theory.

Clearly Franklin can't analyze QBs. You dont know this by now???

I don't think Franklin is good at picking linemen, but I am sure he is going to play the QB that gives them the best chance of winning. He watches practice, we don't, he knows if Drew is the better option.

Can Ricky Rahne or Kirk Ciarocca or Mike Yurcich? Can they analyze them? Or is this just a big conspiracy to play the worst player possible?
Were they the head coach? No. We all know thar JF makes these decisions. Is Yurchich that dumb to play Roberson over Veilleaux? No. Is Franklin? Clearly.

Stop with the Roberson vs CV stuff. CV's problem was he wouldn't put the bong away and got caught so Franklin had to discipline him, essentially making Roberson the only option.
Is that official - I’ve heard speculation but never confirmation. He did start a couple of weeks later.

Not accurate at all. Thats what the JF defenders say.
A backup Penn State quarterback was charged Monday after a university police officer said he found marijuana in the freshman’s apartment. Christian Veilleux, 18, was charged with one misdemeanor count of possession of a small amount of marijuana. The university’s athletics department is aware of the charges, a spokesperson wrote in a statement Monday.

Not accurate that CV was not available to play vs Iowa if he had won the starting job. He 100% was available to backup Clifford @ Iowa.

Maybe he should have practiced good enough to show the coaches he should be the 2nd string quarterback?
But maybe he was too busy trying to get some pussy after pulling gravity bong hits out of a bathtub on the 4th floor of the graduate.
Or is their a secret conspiracy to start the worst players on the depth chart at their position?
Hmmmm?
