And away we go .... no college students (let alone athletes) were put at risk all Fall but time to ruin more dreams because of theoretical models and paranoia

I kind of figured this would be the case. No five time champion for Yianni. That leaves 149 wide open, probably led right now by Sasso.

How were no students or athletes put at risk when Wisconsin lost 2 weeks of football already, the SEC had to postpone 4 of 7 games this week alone, the PAC 12 had to cancel 2games their first week back, etc. I understand that none of those athletes got seriously sick but it is false to say that they were not put at risk.

Great, the way I read this post, Brown and Columbia will fight it out for the Ivy Championship!
No Cornell, Princeton, Penn or Harvard wrestling.

I hate to do this but this also starts the countdown on having the NCAA Tournament. I think they need 50+% so 34/77 teams to have a season.

They are already down to 71 with six Ivies out. I think unless this really swings things that there is still the chance of an NCAA Tournament but it does make you wonder.

The NCAA Tournament could in theory happen with ACC, Big 12, Big 10 plus two others. I would guess I feel good about between 45-50 schools right now but we will see.

I don't feel really good about any of the EIWA schools, MAC I could see all the PA schools who compete in PSAC in trouble. Pac 12 and SoCon I really don't know what to make of them.

Just like football when the SEC held their ground the rest of the conferences came back. Obviously the Ivy League didn't but that's their problem. Now in wrestling it's obviously up to the Big10 to put its foot down and keep wrestling rolling this year. Same for the ACC in basketball. The problem is we've already seen the big10 has no stomach for it.

I would think the money sports are going to occur somehow...

Just the beginning, brace yourself for no wrestling this year.

I think it's legit that PSU remains the reigning national champs heading into 21-22.

I just dont think there is enough time to get off the current trajectory, get guys vaccinated, flatten curve and have a season worth having a national tournament.

Would love to be wrong.

I have always enjoyed reading your posts, and almost always either agree with the point you are making or simply enjoying your story.
This is a post I feel is almost certainly going to be right, and the first time I remember not enjoying one of your posts.

Assuming this season gets canned, how old will Kemerer , Lee, Eierman and Marinelli each be at ‘22 Nationals ? Thanks

Looks like Eierman and kemerer would be about 26, Not as bad as I thought

Don't think it matters whether this season is canned or not. I've heard all those guys are coming back in '22 no matter what?
I would love to see a full strength PSU line-up vs that group before they leave.

It was reported the other day that Kutztown is cancelling winter conference sports, but the article made it seem as if they can participate in non conference events.

"Winter and fall sport student-athletes will not lose a season of Ivy League or NCAA eligibility, whether or not they enroll. Students who wish to pursue competition during a fifth-year of undergraduate education at their home institution, if permitted, or as a graduate student elsewhere will need to work with their institutions in accordance with campus policy to determine their options beyond their current anticipated graduation date."
