In your opinion, what was the best college basketball team ever?

One of Alcindor's UCLA teams? One of the Walton Gang's UCLA's teams? Undefeated Indiana? Duke with Laettner, Hurley and Hill? Others?

The Alcindor & Walton teams had depth that other teams were unable to compete with. That Houston team (Phi Slamma Jama) was very talented/dominant as well as the Duke teams mentioned. UNC had some dominant teams with Jordan and worthy.
My vote has to go with the UCLA teams, their continual dominance is unmatched.

Who was the only guy who could hold Michael Jordan to less than 20 points per game? Dean Smith!

If UCONN wins the title again this year..I think they or one of their teams should be in the discussion as well..in today’s Cball.. winning 3 Natty’s in a row..is truly impressive..

Yes, Tark had that team playing really well together. Still not one of all-time teams.

UNLV 89-90 and 90-91 were BOTH "one of" the all-time teams.

They could hang with modern-day clubs.

You had the core of Greg Anthony, Anderson Hunt (would thrive even more in today's 3-centric offenses), Stacey Augmon and Larry Johnson on both squads. They were beasts. Butler, Ackles, Scurry and Spencer as bigs, and they had sharp-shooters coming off the bench.

Pick one of those 2 (either one) as my all-time top squad. Regardless, they're definitely in the conversation.

Sticking with Phi Slamma Jamma. Two of the top 50 all time players in Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde the Slide Drexler.

Besides, best sports nickname ever…..

Benny "The Jet" Anders was one of my favorites. At a time when the myth of college athletes playing for an education was still predominate- he opined " If you can't play, why stay?"

He would've fit perfectly in today's NIL era
