Says the guy told him he would take care of his shopping. Video from his interview with Harbaugh on helping him prep for pre-draft process.

Wow. So, all this time we thought he was a thief, when in fact there was a guy who was giving him free food right out the door. So he was NOT a thief, he was a cheater who knowingly violated NCAA rules. I guess the only thing left is to identify the guy, who would likely easily be shown to be an FSU booster. Or--alternatively-- there is no guy and he just made this up so he would not come off as a thief.

Ball's in your court, Emmert.

Can't wait to hear this guy talk and give his side of the story in the Civil trial.

Jameis will say; "I ain't saying you a gold-digger." You know the rest.

Harbaugh was entertaining in that clip. As soon as he heard Jameis hint about getting the legs for free, he quickly plays inquisitively dumb and asks Jameis to explain. He already knew the answer when he posed the question.

Wow. Nothing like Harbaugh teaching the kid how to minimize these stories and quickly move on. Did Winston really need Harbaugh to tell him to say he 'f'd up' and move on?

As for the Publix story- now you have Winston on tape telling Harbaugh he had a deal with a guy at Publix to get free food. Is Emmert going to do anything? (Is Harbaugh required to inform the ncaa?) This is where the ncaa loses all credibility. It's just like Cam Newtons family getting $180,000 or the admitted UNC academic fraud scandal. Here's a violation admitted to on tape and the ncaa will pretend they don't know about it and ignore it.

Nothing to see here.

Happens at all schools. You are naive if you think otherwise. Hell, we got hookups back in HS for hoops, let alone at a Championship caliber D1 college level football team.

Well- it is against ncaa rules. This is the same ncaa that went after a D2 or D3 golfer who washed he car using a faucet on a school building as an "extra benefit". Here's a prime D1 player who did worse and they likely do nothing. Of course I'd expect nothing less from the ncaa that excused UNC because they said a handful of non athletes cheated as well while they punished CalTech despite students and non athletes havering the same benefits. No logic or consistency.

The funny thing is, the public likely views stealing it (as previously reported) to be the more severe offense. But in the rules of the NCAA, knowingly taking an impermissible benefit is certainly worse. I wouldn't be surprised if FSU knew this all along, and if JW was told to make this a shoplifting "lapse in judgment" incident instead since the NCAA would likely be less interested that given the materiality (~$40).
