James opened his presser by mentioning they have 14 early enrollees on campus. Joked about how their Florida enrollees have never seen snow. Says they'll be way ahead once they get to spring practices. Sent his thoughts, condolences, and prayers to those affected by the terrorist attack in New Orleans. Expect a large crowd at the Orange bowl, thought last week was a great environment due to both Penn State and Boise State fans. Wants fans to bring White Out energy to Hard Rock. Notes they didn't submit an availability report since it's not a CFP requirement.

When it comes to Notre Dame, he says he's been following Marcus Freeman's career and has heard a lot of good thigns about him, especially from former Penn State and Notre Dame assistant Gerad Parker. Al Golden "one of us", known him for a long time. Calls their defense; sound, aggressive, and disruptive. Thinks they do a good jof playing to their strength offensively. Special teams has been great all season.

Asked about Carter. Says Abdul is taking the right approach and mentaltity. Says its going to come down to how feels, doesn't think the inury is enough to stop him from paying in itself, so will come down to how he feels and what level can he play at.

Asked about Max Granville. They're really excited about him, he was the next guy up for third down packages. Similar triats to Micah Parsons and Chop Robinson in his ability to rush the passer and drop into coverage. Belives there's a lot they can do with Grnaville in the future.

Okay then about as good as expected. I am sure he will play but how effective is the question. 5 days until the game, hopefully he feels better and better each day.

Franklin says Kaytron Allen is playing his tail off. He believes they have the best running back duo in college football, Notre Dame is in that conversation as well.

James says he wants his coordinators to be aggressive and creative against Notre Dame.
Let's hope not too creative or aggressive. Stick with what works when it works. Don't fall in love with a play or player. Pound the ball...use play action...scheme to get Warren open and Singleton the ball in the passing game.

Depends on what Franklin means by "creative." If it means as Lando said scheming to get Warren the ball or running more varied patterns to spread the ball, I'd say HECK YEAH! But I feel he means to be more gimmicky which really hasn't turned out too well for the Lions.

Yeah, I hope that doesn't mean some of the foolish offensive play calling we saw on third & short situations against Boise State. The OL has to be prepared for lots of blitzing and Allar needs to be ready to throw quickly to Warren or the WRs on quick hitters/dump offs to negate NDs blitzing. Long developing WR patterns I don't think are a winning formula against NDs secondary. Defensively, I would like a more conservative approach of slowing down their run game and corraling Leonard (keep him in the pocket). Leonard is very dangerous on the run. Do not blitz.
