jane fonda: I knew, and I'm 'ashamed' I didn't say anything

Hanoi Jane is simply looking out for herself in holding out hope of some sort of supporting actress role, and keeping her mouth shut for so long.

So basically "with the benefit of hindsight I should have done more." Wonder is she will be tarred and feathered like joepa.
Sad, isn't it. Sevetal people admit to knowing but not reporting and the media gives them all a pass. We don't know for sure what Joe knew but we do know he reported it to higher ups. Yet Joe is the one who was crucified.

he is pond scum and she is a traitor and the media is somewhere in between

So, what's new about that in our culture? Nothing.
True. At least half of the people on this board are guilty of the same thing as Fonda, I'd guess. The context might be different but, just the same, many of us have kept quiet when we should have spoken. I'm guilty of that.

How's it go? Something about casting the first stone?

He "allegedly" raped/assaulted 40+ women. Most took money in order to not say anything. Others just said nothing. Aren't they responsible for every rape/assault after theirs for not saying anything? /devil's advocate

They all knew.

Freakin A they “all” knew, man. And “all” means quite a lot. Not just a handful. The victims. The targets. The facilitators. The company. The media. The whole Hollywood gang that looked the other way. t was no secret.

A person would have to be pretty clueless and naïve to be surprised at any of this. Hollywood is a cesspool. Popular culture isn’t much better. On the political front, one party nominated a guy who copped to grabbing women’s p*****s just because he could. The other party nominated a woman who enabled her president-husband’s serial sexual harassment and took huge campaign donations from Weinstein himself. It took her five days to claim she was shocked -- shocked! -- by this latest scandal.

Happy Friday, everyone!

See the link below. From the article:

"Jane Fonda regrets not speaking up earlier about Harvey Weinstein.

The film star, who is also an active women's rights advocate, told CNN's Christiane Amanpour on Thursday that she "found out about Harvey about a year ago."

"I'm ashamed that I didn't say anything right then," Fonda said."

Makes all the leftists in Hollywood screaming about a "War on Women" seem to be just another example of Projection doesn't it? Hanoi Jane hasn't been right about much in her life that didn't involve a leotard.

Just so I'm clear, if somebody tells me that someone did something but I did not see it or experience it myself, the obligation to report it is on me and not the person who told me? Hmmm, I've heard that before and thought it was ridiculous. But, now that I know how things work, I think I can use it to my advantage. I just have to choose something juicy to tell you guys and YOU will have to report it.

sorry, its already too late. You should have "called the police" when you first read of Rose McGowan's tweet. Now, you are screwed as being an enabler and part of a conspiracy to cover it up.

Update – 9:07 p.m.: Oliver Stone is taking a wait-and-see approach to the allegations against Weinstein.

Hollywood Reporter:

“I’m a believer that you wait until this thing gets to trial,” Stone said, continuing: “I believe a man shouldn’t be condemned by a vigilante system. It’s not easy what he’s going through either. He was a rival and I never did business with him.

I’ve heard horror stories on everyone in the business.

So, I’m not going to comment on that. I’ll wait and see, which is the right thing to do.”

oh sweet! I was looking for a venue to discuss Steve Bannon's business ties to Weinstein, and the abject hypocrisy of the right wing, who actively enbaled Dennis Hastert.

is this the place?
