JayPa - let me hear your thoughts please?

  • That report was done years ago. Lots of investigative work has been done for those actually interested in the truth since then. For example, the medical reports that JS has extremely low testosterone and basically no testicles or sex drive. There should be tons of evidence if JS is one of the “most prolific pedophiles of all time”, but instead the mounting evidence supports his innocence.

You need a lot more than a shooter.

Medical reports which somehow never managed to make their way into evidence presented by the defense. BTW, there are studies which present low testosterone levels in convicted pedophiles. That doesn't make it a prerequisite, just eliminates it as a defense.

Even if Jerry is guilty, he’s not necessarily a pedophile. A pedophile is defined as someone who is sexually attracted to pre-pubescent children. Whereas the three men who testified to actual sexual relationships with Sandusky were teenagers at the time, with Victims 4 and 9 nearly 17 when they claimed it ended (depending on their inconsistant timelines). That would make Sandusky a homosexual ephebophile, meaning someone who prefers sex with teenagers. Of course, if true it’s still criminal and still greatly immoral, but I think the media myth that Sandusky was “raping little boys” is causing many people to have a complete misunderstanding of the case.

It was with Morelli. And, as the stories told it, he was literally having him play PlayStation to get a feel for the game.

So roughly that time frame. Morelli had a great arm, but was not always good about understanding the offense and the gameplans. They had to go 'KISS' with him, especially early on - that from an ex-assistant coach. He did some good things for us, but overall, was not our most cerebral QB. I can see how the PlayStation approach might have helped him. Some people can learn better visually, maybe that was the case with Morelli.

I'm not of the mind to criticize a coach for trying something innovative and creative to help or to move things ahead. Nothing ventured, nothing gained and all. And that's how most noteworthy coaches have made their mark in their sports, JVP among them.

Split all the hairs you want. The Grinning Baboon is where he belongs.

I'm assuming you are being watched by Law Enforcement. If not, I hope this post triggers that. WTF?

I recall that. I'm thinking it was around 2005, when that great freshman class was coming in and MRob was the QB. Could be wrong.

What I don't recall clearly (and I have no doubt our BWI brethren will jump in with why I'm an idiot or maybe that I am on the right track), but remember something about, is that using programmable football animation became a widely used coaching technique, a visual playbook. PlayStation was used initially because it allowed for programming in the plays, routes, etc. and then could be shown on the iPad or whatever they were using. So, they essentially programmed in the playbook, and the players could visualize how the play lined up, how it unfolded, etc., which is far better than the old plays diagrammed on sheets of paper or on a white board. I think it was considered innovative and caught on, and I believe the ensuing iterations of that are still used.

But I could be wrong, and therefore an idiot and a Jaybot. I will be proactive and blame Jay directly, just in case. But I recall something along those lines, from whatever reality I am/was/will be living in.

If you are a good teacher (or coach), you adapt the lesson plan to the learning style of the student. My learning style is not your typical sit in the classroom and take notes on the lecture. Once different learning styles were recognized and practices to embrace them instituted I excelled...

I believe that having success - and achieving or enhancing that success by incorporating alternative, “outside of the box” methodologies - would be looked upon very differently.
Obviously, that was not the case wrt the issue in question.

With that specific player, I agree. He didn't seem to quickly grasp the higher complexities, if ever. But given that technique was used throughout the team and with other QBs in subsequent seasons, I'd say it was successful.

I would guess that digital playbooks are widely used in 2018, and no longer a novelty in college and in pro football. Maybe some of the coaches here know the answer.

What?!? I actually think it’s important to know the actual nature of the crimes Sandusky was accused and convicted when participating in a discussion regarding whether or not he was wrongly convicted.

My mind isn't nearly deranged enough to care about the difference. That being said, the corruption in this case is insane.
