Jeff Beyers is doing A-OK

I love Jeff's work. Often I attend the matches and a day or two later listen to his play by play.

Weddings are tough trying to keep the invites in budget but Jeff is going to have a bitch picking Groomsmen. Does he select the unsung hero walk- ons, or only if you were an All-American 2 or more times. Even if he only picks NCAA Champs it would be a parade down the aisle.

Congratulations Jeff and Marisa Ann!

I have met Jeff but he does not know me as such I'm going to count on some of you for the forum wedding play by play.

Also I have less than 1,220 Nittany Lion Points and if I were Jeff there is a starting point for invites.

That could be a fund raiser. Donate $50,000 to the team or NLWC and you get an invite.

Lastly if it were me, and I was selecting some wrestlers I definitely would leave out Cassar. Who needs to see Anthony tearing his tux at every bicep movement.

Do a PBP of the proposal and I do. That would be classic.
Here's a try...

And, here we go, the matchup we've all been waiting for. Jeff and Marissa Ann are at dinner. It's an intimate little restaurant with quiet music and candles on every table. There's a pretty good crowd here to see this one with about fifty in attendance.

There's the whistle and this one is under way.

Jeff is on one side of the table, wearing khakis and a button-down shirt with the Penn State blue blazer. Marissa Ann on the other side , looking stunning in her conservative black skirt, heels, and white blouse.

The lights are dim and people are speaking in hushed tones. So far they're just making small talk. Jeff asks her how her day was, trying to get his timing just right before he takes the shot. She counters that it was just fine, and brings up their upcoming dinner plans with a family member. He realizes quickly that he needs to get the conversation back to just them, and comes back with "You look beautiful tonight." She softens, her defenses down, but the period runs out with no score.

The second period begins with more hand-holding, discussions about Penn State wrestling, with Jeff just trying to find the right opportunity. Finally, there it is. Marissa Ann says, "I love you." With that opening, Jeff drops to a knee beside the table. He reaches in his pocket, trying to finish the takedown. He takes the ring out of his pocket, slides it on her finger and says, "Marissa, I love you more than Penn State wrestlers love to wrestle. Will you marry me?"

With tears of joy in her eyes she says yes! She says yes! She says yes! Jeff Byers gets engaged! The nearby crowd goes crazy! Jeff Byers and Marissa Ann, how do you do?!

Out of nowhere, Shane Sparks comes running over to the table microphone in hand. "How does it feel?"

Adrenaline flowing, but baffled by the intrusion, Byers responds, "When I come to State College and find a fiance, I find the best. It's what i do!"

Hah, well done sir!!

I can’t tell what the score is, the scoreboard says Marisa Ann 110 and Jeff 1, no that doesn’t seem right. There is a discussion and I hope we are going to get a clarification because I thought Jeff should have 2. They are still talking.......we are going to take a one minute break while they sort this out........

I have ZERO ability to when it comes to creativity --- so, keep em coming, these are great! *( thanks Ironhead for the laughs at your expense )*

There's Byers circling to his right, Marisa Ann shoots in deep, he sprawls, she's pulling the leg in. She turns him to his back. Byers is in real trouble now, she's got him in an irreversible wedlock. She's got the pin! How do you do Marisa Ann!!!

It looks like Ironhead is hurt. Some kind of injury time out. The trainer is looking at him . . . it appears to be something with his back. Marisa Ann had a spladle locked up, and it appears that Ironhead pulled something. That may be the first time he's been in that position. He's walking it off and it looks like he's going to give it a go. It's Marisa's choice after the injury time out and she takes top. The coaches are telling her to cut him and it looks like she's going to try to get bonus points. AND SHE'S IN ON A HIGH CROTCH . . . TAKE DOWN MARISA ANN AND SHE'S WORKING THE LEG TURK AND NOW HAS THE BOW AND ARROW IN, AND SHE'S TURNING HIM, THE REF IS GIVING HER SWIPES, AND THERE'S THE FALL RIGHT AT THE 1 MINUTE MARK IN THE FIRST PERIOD!!!!!!!!

Ironhead is known to have heavy hands. He is looking for an opening and he finds it. He takes his best shot, but Marissa Ann is getting funky and no score. Ironed really is hoping to score, but Marissa Ann says no way. She adjusts her laces and pounces. It is all Marissa Ann and Iron head has no option but to concede the position. The period ends and Iron head wins the toss. He can't turn her so he chooses down. Maybe he will get lucky and score. Marissa seems to be tiring. Iron head's relentless pressure is taking effect.

Ironhead is wearing her out from bottom. Marissa gets out of position and iron head scores. Oh no, did you see that. Just like that, it is over. We will wait for the rematch next week or month, if ever. It promises to be filled with action and surprises, with the fans being the real winners here.
