PSU will be ranked by the playoff committee #12. NY 6 Bowl very much in play.
Florida is 13. It'd be real nice to see Florida struggle with Idaho and then lose to FSU

in which case, let's hope its Iowa state. No bowl committee will ever choose Iowa state over psu. It would be nice to get Texas out of the equation.PSU will be ranked by the playoff committee #12. NY 6 Bowl very much in play.
The winner of the Iowa State vs Texas game this week will jump ahead of us.

Pretty sure the bowl committee has no say for the NY6 games. The top teams go barring auto bids

you are correct about the bowls not choosing anymore. Didn't realize that switch was made. You are however not correct that the top ranked teams automatically make it to the ny6.the individual bowls choose the teams that play in the games. Some have conference tie-ins, some do not.
Not in the NY6. You're thinking of the old system when all that matter was the fan bases and how much money you brought. The Fiesta, for example, can't just take anyone because they don't have a tie-in. The top ranked teams qualify.
The CFP committee determines the matchups for all 6 of the "New Year's Six" bowls taking into consideration the various already stipulated tie-ins for some of those bowls (I.e. Rose with Big 10/Pac 12 matchups). The committee will determine whichever match ups they think are the most attractive and then back into their justification for those matchups by ranking the teams from 1 to 25. If they want PSU in NY6 bowl against a particular team, they will create the matchup and then justify it via their rankings of the two teams. Likewise, if they want to see someone else rather than PSU, their final rankings will reflect their desire.you are correct about the bowls not choosing anymore. Didn't realize that switch was made. Sure, but the committee doesn't even have to play games with the rankings, they can take a lower ranked team if the want to. Just look at 2016 when Colorado was ranked 10th and was left out in favor of Auburn, who was ranked 14th.The CFP committee determines the matchups for all 6 of the "New Year's Six" bowls taking into consideration the various already stipulated tie-ins for some of those bowls (I.e. If they want to move PSU from 14 to 12 with nobody in front of them losing, they will do it. Likewise, they can jump teams over us for the same reasons. "Obviously, " there has to be some reasonable justification for their rankings (they can't justify a 8-4 team in front of a 10-2 team) but they sure can figure out a way to justify one particular 9-3 team over another 9-3 team.

If WVU beats OkState, then loses to OU, WVU likely wont play OU twice. Assuming TX wins out, Iowa state could go to the CC ahead of WVU and play TX.I only see WVU dropping if they lose both games to Oklahoma if they split they both will be in the NY6
FlurriesWhat does Rosie Palm predict?
Championships are won in November....that’s why the SEC teams are playing juggernauts like the Citadel, UMass and Rice. Exciting times.

Okay I haven't been paying attention....I was about to correct you and say "you meant Utah, not Utah State" and then I looked up the rankings...the apocalypse is upon us...Utah St is ranked...and so is Army in one poll!!FSU is horrible. If we're relying on them to make the NY6 we're in trouble.
Not surprised the top 10 stayed the same. Chaos doesn't appear likely
Northwestern getting some love ahead of Utah State, Cincinnati and Boise State at 22
Gonna make for some big big style points and great viewing. lol
Are they still behind Florida?
That’s the most likely confounding factor if PSU ends up not making it to NY6
WVU and Syracuse are highly likely to drop below PSU before it’s all over....... but upsets in either the ACC or B10 CCG could gum up the works.

This season, our style points are still likely in the red. Unless we put up 100 in 3 quarters and go victory formation on RU’s 30 throughout the fourth, I don't see many style points for the taking.PSU needs style points this weekend, too
Amen to that. And to think of how close PSU was to 11-1 or 10-2 (assuming we close strong)... such a weird year. It's a weird year
