I had that same job chart just without the money.Motivating kids (particularly your own)
Change the money values to "get to sleep in your bed', 'eat something you like at dinner' etc.Motivating kids (particularly your own)
Motivating kids is easy. Just threaten that if they don't help out around the house, you will send them to Pitt.
Pitt may not be able to fill a football stadium, but they certainly fill your mind. Man, you are obsessed with that University.
So you outright insult Pitt (bold text), and claim that I am obsessed for my completely benign comment? I guess you don't see the irony in that?
Please stop projecting your obsessive behavior on me.

psuro said:I never insulted Pitt - only you. Because you deserved it. Face it - they own you. They are in your head all the time, and that gets reflected by your number of posts you make about them - on a Penn State board.
There is no irony in my comment, only observational analysis - from this and the myriad of other posts you make about Pitt. Perhaps you should change your board name to Pittczar.
You are their b*tch.
In all the years spent raising my two daughters, this is the only form of "punishment" that had any real impact. Car privileges, grounding, friend privileges ... pppfffffttttt ... but I swear they would rather cut of their own arm then give up their cell phone. My younger daughter threw the mother of all fits the first time we took her phone away.Just take their phone away. That’s the great motivator.

This was entertaining. I really like the part where you tried to describe how you didn't mean your previous comment about going to Pitt as an insult. Good stuff. Now if you believe what you actually wrote that makes it even better.I suggest you look up the definition of irony.
You clearly insulted them for their attendance. (Perhaps you should change your board name to pittro?) Where did I insult Pitt in this thread? Spoiler alert, I did not... You assumed it was an insult. I merely suggested sending kids to Pitt as punishment... maybe it's too far away, maybe it's too small, maybe it's too urban, maybe it doesn't have the right field of study, and most importantly it's not Penn State. Just because it's not the right fit, doesn't make it an insult. Maybe it's where you plan to send your kids... but this is a Penn State board, and you would likely be in the minority.
I'm sorry to call you out on your failure, but you deserve it. You can't just say stuff that isn't true without people noticing. What's really odd is how much you seemingly keep tab on my posts, I must be in your head all the time. Yet you don't seem to know that I'm also a Pitt alum, and am very transparent about just having fun with the a$$holes on the lair. I also like to mess with this board's self appointed content police... and you keep taking the bait. Face it - I own you. You are my b*tch.
Yet all I know about you is that despite nearly 50k posts, you rarely add any value to this board other than your sig pics... which are obviously a desperate cry for attention from a lonely person. That's not an insult, only observational analysis.
That’s fine if you also charge the kids room and board. They can earn up $15 but have to pay $5 for rent and $2.50 for food. This way there is some actual lessons being taught and hopefully learned.

True story, unfortunately I missed actually hearing it. About 20 years ago, while I was packing our car to return from a vacation in the outer banks, my wife walked my about 5 year old son to the beach. It was right before school started and my wife was giving a "if you work hard you can do anything" speech. After she finished the speech, he turned to her and said:Motivating kids is easy. Just threaten that if they don't help out around the house, you will send them to Pitt.
They still occasionally got in trouble, but I'd like to think the fear of losing the cell phone reduced the number of occurrences. For teenagers (especially girls), there are actually six vital organs ... brain, heart, lungs, kidneys, liver and cell phone!Did it work?

Brilliant.I really like the part where you think you know my intentions better than I do. Good Stuff. Now if you believe what you actually wrote that makes it even better.
