After Trump's commutation of the sentences of some of the JAN 6 protestors, District Court Judge Amit Mehta amended a Sentencing Order by, BARRING 6 commuted Oath Keepers from even entering Washington DC without his Consent. Trump's DOJ is "asking" the Judge to reconsider and revoke the ORDER. The argument, of course, is that once the sentence was commuted the Judge no longer had jurisdiction to enter a subsequent amending Order bearing on post release conditions.
No shock that Mehta was appointed by Obama. Mehta was outraged about the commutation and in public conversations said, "Rhodes being 'ABSOLVED' was frightening to anyone who cares about 'DEMOCRACY.'"
Mehta has taken a page from the Flynn persecutor Judge Emmett Sullivan who wouldn't let Flynn's case be dismissed even though the DOJ filed a motion to Dismiss. And during the process Sullivan essentially called General Flynn a traitor.
