I have used NordVPN for the last 2 years at home and while traveling. If you need access to brokerage or bank accounts it adds a higher level of security. We just came back from 10 days in Ireland and I tried to view BWI off of an Irish server and it wouldn’t load. I switched to a US server and it came right up. I had signed a 3 year deal for $2.99 per month and think it is well worth it. Just an FYI in case you want to have an additional layer of security for investment or financial accounts.

Thank you Yogi; that investment sounds well worth the monthly fee.

Good tip! I was just in UK and discovered that I could not access any of the Rivals sites and/or BWI....

No Rivals sites can be accessed from Europe. That particular issue began when the EU changed their privacy laws, I think. Tom can weigh in, but I think Rivals has been slow to adopt the changes required by the new law and thus is blocked.

I don't know the facts, but it is more likely that Rivals believes that it may not be compliant with the new EU privacy regulation (GDPR) and has restricted access from EU data subjects to its sites.

I believe Rivals chose not to comply simply because so little traffic comes from Europe.

Rivals access works on a US based VPN server in any of the countries serviced by Nord. You can be in any country and select to use a server from any other.

I wish the US would adopt many of the privacy laws that the EU has. They follow more of an "opt in" model while the US allows sites and many other things related to privacy to be in place by default, and customers have to "opt out." I think that's ridiculous.

It is ridiculous but never forget that when something is "free", YOU are the product.

I use NORD VPN and I was able to access sites here in US as I traveled around the World for two months this year. Whenever I had problem with Nord, I turned it off, found the site, and then turned on Nord. Nord works well, I use it here for financial transactions.

Witopia and ExpressVPN are also good options. VPN's are a necessity in certain parts of the world, not just from a security standpoint, but even for basic things like VOIP (Skype, Facetime, etc.).

Thanks for sharing. Good to know that while traveling throughout Europe I can still read posts of grown men whining about decommitments. ;)

Just kidding (partially.). This board is often an enjoyable distraction.

Does NordVPN get around The Great Firewall?
Are you taking about China?
I am just coming back (took the long way through Paris) and VPN will get you to blocked sites like Google and Facebook.
On phone had no issue with any blocked sites.
