I just called to pre-pay for RV over night lot stay for the Michigan game. They wanted to charge me the full $120 over the phone. I asked why I didn't get a $15 discount for my already paid for yellow parking pass like I do when I pay cash day of arrival at the RV lot. Response I get is we can't confirm you bought the yellow parking pass. I say look up my account it's clearly on the invoice. Response - Sorry we can't do that.

I was seriously thinking of moving to club seats for next year, but it's crap like this that will probably keep me from laying out more money to PSU.

Could you email them a copy of the invoice? Just an idea.

If they let you do that, all the RV dealers that park their RVs in the lot would buy yellow passes, get the discount you're looking for, then sell the yellow pass on park avenue for $30 before the game.

Easy fix for this - When I arrive in the lot I present my yellow pass and they give me $15 in cash. Problem fixed.

So let me get this right......you are pissed that they will not take your word for it that you have a yellow pass for the Michigan game and will bring it with you and turn it in to them upon your arrival? Sounds to me like you are the one that has a problem, not the parking staff. No business is going to do that....anytime, anywhere!

If you want to only pay the $105 then wait until day of arrival and buy your pass then....simple fix!

Just like with STEP, it's their inflexibility that drives people away. We've heard examples over and over again on this Board. Why not have a few "concierge" people with the power to handle matters like this on a case by case basis?

Well we see things differently. They can clearly bring up my account when I'm on the phone and see I already paid for the yellow pass. I'm clearly following their rules by pre-purchasing RV lot parking, but I get penalized for doing so vs. the guy who just shows up and hands in his yellow pass and gets the discount.

I have been living in SC for 10+ years now. I swear some people (mostly those that work at PSU) are still living/acting like its the 1990s. However, when I was a student at PSU in the 80s, it was always about them getting the $$$ first and who cares if you have issues. Just give us the money and we can work it out later or we will charge you a late fee. In all of my cases, they were never willing to work it out later. Once they got your money then you are on your own. Granted this doesn't go for all departments, but seems more prevalent with depts like athletics.

The problem is they can't be sure you are going to turn in your yellow pass when you arrive at the overnight RV lot and that you aren't going to give it away to someone else once you receive your overnight RV lot pass, thus resulting in lost revenue to the University.

If you were at UP and went to the ticket office to turn in your yellow pass in exchange for an overnight RV lot pass, I'm sure they would be more than happy to make the exchange for you and only charge you the difference.

Again, easily fixed. I can turn in my yellow pass when I arrive for $15 cash just like the person who arrives and pays cash. Keep trying, and maybe you'll find a good reason to believe PSU is right!

Did they inform you that they would not allow you to turn in your yellow pass for a refund upon arrival?

Maybe I'm just being too logical here, but if you are so concerned about the $15 why not just wait until day of arrival and purchase the overnight RV pass. There is no $$ incentive to pre-pay for the overnight RV pass. Wait until day of arrival and trade in your yellow pass for credit at the overnight RV lot.....not like the pre-payed pass is going to get you into the overnight RV lot any quicker anyways.

Well the issue they now only sell so many RV over night lot passes. If they sell out in advance of the game you are screwed when arriving on Friday night. I really don't care about the $15 to be honest. It's the poor customer service and inflexibility that PSU always seems to show.

With tickets you can walk up on game day and give your NLC # and they will walk you to your seats if you lost or forgot your tickets (to make sure someone isn't sitting there with your "lost" tickets). Don't see any reason they can't credit your card when you show up and hand them the pass. Pretty simple. No problem with them charging you up front (to make sure you don't sell the pass) and then credit you later.

Exactly. Right now the last thing they need are more people finding reasons to stop attending games. This is a not a big issue, which is all the more reason they should have found it easy to resolve in your favor.

This thread is silly.... I completely get the University's position... easy to say "give me credit" and then sell the pass on the open market....

It's $15 bucks for god's sake!

I agree it's disappointing that you couldn't mail them the yellow pass because there's plenty of time. I also think it's bad that you can't buy a yellow pass and print it out online. Why mail stuff in this day and age? Is it just to wrangle $40 out of someone who forgets to buy their parking a week in advance?

But here's a solution. Wave your yellow pass around on college avenue. You'll quickly get people willing to pay $20 instead of $40. It's a minor inconvenience but you'll pocket $20 in no time at all.

So you want PSU to serialize and bar code print at home parking passes, and give the parking attendants scanners. Ya, I think that will go over well.....

I actually had an episode 3 years ago where the PSU tix office sold the same seat twice. My friend went to her seat and a guy was sitting there. She told him he was in her seat and shown him her tix. He also produced a tix (that was not a fake) to that game for the same exact section, row, and seat. It was bizarre. The ushers got on the horn and they moved her and her friend to a better seat, no major issues.

But still amazed that their computer system allowed them to sell the same seat twice for a single game.

You clearly didn't read all of his posts.
