Just saw it . Surprised he didn't get one more season
So which college football team fires their coach to hire Kelly?
So when do the "Franklin interested in hometown Eagles job"start?
How bad must things have been that they canned him before the last game...

Well, he lied in his press conference and said he was not in charge of picking the personnel.I'm was thinking the same thing. I wonder if there was a blow up between him and ownership today and either he walked away or was escorted out. Odd that he won't coach the last game (which he clearly had every intention of doing at his last press conference).

with a good hire, this team can be competitive quickly. The question is whether they try to blow it up and start over. I'm still curious to see this defense with some TOP protection. Would it wear down less down the stretch? It was a damned good unit for the first half of the season when you factor in the higher number of plays it saw.I think that's what got Lurie fired up. That presser was awful. If I didn't know better, Kelly did that to force Lurie to fire him now.
I don't know what happens next. This franchise is in deep trouble (no big deal, of course, it's just football and fun to us but a big business to those in it).

I also think Bradford is close to becoming a semblance of the QB they though he'd be when drafted. I really hope they don't toss the baby out with the bath water there.
It depends how you look at it. I believe TOP is a cumulative effect as the season wears on. I saw an article that analyzed the defense and found it was on the field for something like 25% more plays than the NFL average.I agree that they can be competive quick but I don't think the TOP argument is valid at all. It's an excuse for a bad defense. How many times this year did the Eagles have a team in 3rd and long only to allow a first down? Far too many times and some of the teams had terrible offenses.
