Chris will be doing the play by play of the ABC broadcast of the Penn State--Iowa football game on Saturday. He will be in the both with Kirk Herbstreit.
But even more interesting, Chris added a nugget of information that I think won't surprise anyone here in the Lions Den. Chris essentially told me that if everything goes as planned with Penn State and Michigan, ABC will feature the Penn State--Michigan game as its ABC prime-time broadcast at 8 PM on Saturday, Oct. 21.
I don't know if many of our Lions Den members realize that Chris has a special connection with Penn State. Chris' father was a Theatre Arts professor at Penn State when he was growing up and his first introduction to college football was at Penn State. Chris' father went on to be the Dean of the Theatre Arts School at Colorado, but ever since I first had the opportunity to meet Chris when he began his career at ESPN as part of Scholastic Sports America when ESPN was broadcasting a Big 33 Game, we have kept on touch on a regular basis to discuss Penn State football and recruiting.
If indeed everything goes as expected with Penn State and Michigan, I'm hoping to have Chris on the Pa. Sports Network's radio broadcast on Saturday morning [Oct. 21] before the game with Michigan at 8 PM Saturday evening.
