Just showed Franklin at the wrestling match. Said that it was a near record crowd.

As much as I am enjoying this frivolity, I feel the need to mention that this thread illuminates what is special about this board. We are, by and large, made up of men who understand the value of sacrifice for family and the dignity of hard work. That’s a holy thing, as my uncle the priest would say. We Are...the McAndrew Board.

I am sad to say that I disagree. I think dignity and family are holy and, no matter how much he deserves it, Tom McAndrew should not be sacrificed regardless if would be hard work or not! How the hell does one even determine how hard a sacrifice that would be?

My grandparents who raised me from 5th grade had high hopes of me becoming a priest. Not fibing. Their wishes we're squashed during my 8th grade year. During catechism class after Sunday morning mass I gave the sisters a hard time about their views on pony tails on girls & DA's on guys. They told us it was a sin to sport these hairdos, they were animal rear ends. I spent many a class as a dunce sitting in the elementary catechism classes. My grandparents were so embarrassed.

During my confirmation, that F'n Bishop asked me a question I couldn't answer and ridiculed me in front of the parishioners at Mass. Another embarrassment for the grandparents.

Then I met a girl that year who eventually would turn my world upside down.

This should get an award for the most derailed thread ever. The entire thread literally contains zero content related to the subject, not even the OP!
I'm truly sorry about my post in the beginning of this thread. I was very tired doing the five hour travel and work thing and was probably responding to a post in another thread. My post is senseless with regards to the OP. Bourbon & tired is not always a nice end to an evening.
I honestly don't know why I posted to this thread.

I am 74 and still work, walk 1500+miles/yr and spend hours in my gardens. Hard to stay healthy sitting on your ass watching tv.
Good gal Mary, I understand your motivation to stay in top shape.... you probably still want to have sex. Me, I'm one of those ass TV guys watching sex.

Seriously, I have to get my $hit together and remove many lbs of weight.

Well now that was fun. I wonder what Franklin thought of it. By the way I’m soon to be 72 and retired 15 years ago. Never regreted a day of it. I had the opportunity and jumped at it.

Coal Region parents wanted their kids to grow up to be either a priest or a State Trooper. You would have free beer at the Hosie, and probably ring baloney too for life.

These are my four rules to health and longevity; 1. Take at least one long shower every day. 2. Drink copious amounts of fermented beverages. 3. Always sleep under a roof in an air conditioned or well heated room. 4. Whenever you feel the need for exercise immediately lay down in your bed and wait for that thought to pass.
