Just wondering

Thanks roar. I was hoping for some discussion on strength training. Pro's and con's. Oh well.

Is there a con?[/QUOTE

Not looking for discourse. I did some research on PSU strength Training and the trainer. We are in good hands. Back in the day for my summer strength training I walked beans, threw sacks of seed off a conveyor belt and played with the ladies. Some pro and some con probably. BTW, we shot watermelon and also "relaxed" with a chainsaw-041 stihl if memory serves.

80 acres of alfalfa bales 6 times across the summer usually should have kept us in good shape, but the beer we drank cooling down probably reduced the benefit somewhat. Throwing a hundred pounds 7 or 8 layers high on the truck was good for strength and explosion.

My teenage wrestler got to try it for the first time at his uncles this summer-after the first row on the truck, he was done. But in his defense, he might grow into a 106 lb.

Tossing 12" block onto a scaffold and humping 80# sacks of cement across a jobsite will do it, too! Unfortunately for me, I didn't get that job until my wrestling career was done (not that it would have made a big difference, but I sure looked better at the beach! ;-) )

You got 6 cuttings a year? While feeding cattle I have trouble rolling a 4x4 anymore.

I did the "tender" job also. Had to use Husker lotion but it just felt weird.

Yep, irrigated about 8 1/2-9 ton/acre. All by hand to the truck, then to the loft (and out of the loft to feed) As soon as I left, the old man bought a round baler that he wouldn't buy before "because the cows waste too much".

I would have hated the block and cement, as well as anything to do with concrete.

He is right about the cows and he wasn't getting any younger. Cement dries your hands out like you wouldn't believe.

no, he just didn't want to have to pay people to haul the hay, once us boys were all gone :). It all went through a grinder on the way to the trough!
Frugal huh, speaking of hauling out of the pasture try stabbing 2 bales at a time with 200 bales to go. Gets so mindless the "dillo" hole sure is a wake up call as you dislodge the loader joystick out of your eye socket while sitting on your balls.

Just having fun also. Maybe you two could also discuss the benefits of crop rotation!:)
I gave up farming when I left home for college in 1978. I could probably still discuss, but that would have nothing to do with weight training and conditioning. And everyone should thank farmers-the barley and hops come from somewhere before that beer gets made!

Makes for good alkali burns when you're sweaty. I used to work for a company that built cement plants. Nasty stuff.

And it really gets bad when the block tears your hands up after throwing them around all day; it only took me a day to realize I had to invest in a really good pair of gloves. Ah yes! Those were the good ol' days! Makes me glad I've got a cushy white collar job now, especially on these +90 deg days!

And I bitch because my parents used to buy generic soda when I was growing up and now buy the good stuff.

It's very Sandersonesque. Being a wrestling fan is a grind too! Sounds like farming discourse is our dodgeball.
