K Alex Barbir has left the team

I kind of think we're overlooking Journey Brown. It's my understanding that the kid has the work ethic to go with his athletic intangibles. He's as fast a running back as we'd ever had. At a minimum, he'll be the kickoff return guy and carry 3-4 times a game, that's my guess. The pressure he'd put on the defense, that's something to think about.
If you think JB will be the return guy and get carries, then I think you are being a little optimistic. JMO. Actually, not a little optimistic, but way over the top optimistic.
He will be 3rd string at best (pending injuries) - no way he gets 3-4 carries a game. Sanders didn't get 3 carries/game, and he was #2.

Yeah, maybe. I do have a history of playing favorites as I'm doing here. But then Sanders was playing behind Barkley. And why wouldn't JB return kickoffs?

Why would he? He is competing with 10 other guys for that job, so "giving" him the job at this point does speak to you playing favorites. He might win the job, but I'd put the odds at <10%.

Ricky Slade will be to Miles Sanders as Miles Sanders was to Barkley. Sanders will get the majority of the touches while Slade spells him. Sanders looked special when he carried the ball this year and I have a feeling Slade will also be the real deal. Mix in Journey Brown and Mark Allen and you have a fantastic backfield.

With a side order of Parsons
in short yardage and in
Red Zone situations?

Best I remember, Brown looked ready to play in the practice photos that were published during the season. Kid had freshman year Barkley legs on him.

Robinson leaving is more of a positive on Brown and Slade than a negative about our depth.

i think there was speculation that Mark Allen would move on now that he has graduated. for him a 5th year of relatively no PT doesn't make much sense.

AB’s twitter post was a little odd. Felt like part of it could have been omitted. Felt like, to me, he was taking some shots at Penn State.

It read to me like he didn't like the time and effort demands required of him as a major college football player.

True, but Sanders isn't Barkley. The guys behind Sanders won't be quite as far behind him, as he was behind 26. And Sanders was a true freshman who really should have redshirted.

Anyhow, I don't expect a whole lot out of Brown initially either, but just pointing out that the situations are not parallel.

As far as kickoff returns go, I thought that the general belief was that Hamler would be that guy, once he gets his feet wet. Seems that his potential in this regard is off the charts.

It was a very odd post, that's for sure. I wasn't sure how to take it either and will chalk it up to a young adult being a young adult.

His choice of words and future college should make Mack Daddy really happy, though.

Is Liberty looking for a kicker to kick it out of bounds?

I wish Alex nothing but the best moving forward--I was just commenting on the tweet which I found to be odd.

Liberty is a whole different animal when compared to Penn State. I know a few people who went there including one who played football. It's a very strict and rigid environment from what I understand. Many would probably call it sheltered and naive.

True but then Sanders isn't a Heisman candidate...yet.
Before he decided to transfer Alan Robinson did get a lot of carries.
Someone is going to have to get some playing time, Sanders isn't going to be out there for every snap.
Let me put it this way....I'll be shocked of Brown DOESN'T get at least 3-4 carries a game.
