I don't think I've seen a post indicating as much.

It's being held on Nov. 19, at the Palestra (Philadelphia, PA -- campus of the University of Pennsylvania).

Tickets cost $15 for the day, or $5 if bought as a group purchase.

There is also the option of buying tix for just the finals.

I'm still working on my schedule to try to fit this tournament in.

If you'd like to purchase tix, you can do so at THIS LINK.

post a reply if you purchase tix, so that we get a sense of who will be there

I bought mine. I'm going to need them to wrap up the finals in enough time to make it home for the 8:30 kickoff of the Eagles/Cowboys game.

Just got mine..thanks Tom for posting. If anyone looking to sell tickets to tOSU match, please let me know..very interested, but no way spending $200 per ticket on stubhub..lol

You'll help yourself by not parking in that *(#&$*(# garage on the other side of Franklin Field (Penn Museum). I thought we were never going to get out of there.

And, on your way in, don't forget about the marathon.

Good point. That was a nightmare on the exit. Street parking is much better, imo. Even if you have to go up to Chestnut.

Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Marathon is being held the same day (just like last year).

The full marathon will be running on Chestnut Street, which is a block and a half from the Palestra. Unfortunately, the half-marathon route takes it on Walnut Street, which is a half a block from the Palestra.

I had only a small delay getting out of the University Museum Garage last year, but I had parked on the ground floor, not far from the exit. I'll try to look into a few other options for parking and post about them the week before the Classic.

I live in Philadelphia about a mile from Penn's stadium in West Philly and the Palestra. There should be plenty of street parking, especially above 38th Street if you are willing to walk a little bit or take a cab or Uber. The marathon traffic should be over by noon. (I've run the marathon several times myself.) Some of the parking might be metered but there is also plenty of free parking if you drive around a bit. Lots of places to eat around the Palestra. Hope to see the PSU crowd sitting in one space. I attended last year and really enjoyed the all-day event. Nolf hit some crazy mind-boggling moves and PSU dominated the day. It's a good space and the wrestlers are always walking the halls if you want to meet one or get a photo with your kid, or whatnot.

I live in the western suburbs, and if I go (no idea yet what the boss has planned for me), I'm most likely taking the train. University City and 30th St stations are both within a 1/2 mi walk from the Palestra.

Biggest hitch is being hostage to Septa's timetable. OTOH, I'm a lightweight and that's extra time to sober up before driving home.

Yeah, and the garage wasn't the problem, it was the stupid light only about 8 car lengths from the garage exit, which had about a 3 minute cycle to let the occasional car going thru the intersection. I was in there about 45 minutes and I left at exactly the same time as Tom McAndrew but on the 4th floor (if memory serves).

ouch, ouch, ouch

If I recall correctly, we walked together from the Palestra to the University Museum Garage, so we did get to the garage at the same time.

I had forgotten about the traffic light sequencing. That certainly was part of the problem. Perhaps they had fixed the gate exiting the garage by the time you got there, but that was the biggest impediment when I departed. If I recall correctly, something wasn't working with the tickets, so the girl manning the booth had to get out of the booth, and do something to get the impediment to be raised.

If I remember correctly she was still manually opening the gate but once the alley to the light was full no one else could get out until the cars waiting for the light cleared out of the way. I will make sure I am early this time and parked on the ground floor. Plus hopefully the traffic engineer that programmed that intersection will have corrected the problem but I am not hopeful that will happen.

The marathon seems to cause a lot of the transport issues from what I've seen. But I've never had a problem coming in or out.

If you're not opposed to walking a little I'd recommend 33rd and Chestnut by Drexel's campus. There is a line of street parking that tends to open up on the weekends

This! Park on the west side of Penn's campus. Take a nice stroll down Locust Walk to the Palestra.

Our bus driver struggled to find parking for the day. Once he found a spot, he was there for the entire day, no exceptions...

Tom, it's likely that I'll make it, though no Mrs. Roar...something about shopping, lol.

androcles, if you don't mind waiting for the buses to get to the arena...I can get you "group" ticket(s).
