Finished the victory this morn playing 17 & 18 with an easy par and easy birdie. Pretty damn good golf for a guy 48 years old!

Casey also finished par birdie to take second. He and his partner (the best “13 handicap” I’ve ever seen in my life) won the pro-am by two strokes.

I truly enjoyed this win especially after Phil lost the Desert Classic by 1 last month. He certainly has some zip in his drives and irons.

I watched the final round (as I stated in another, apparently, controversial post). There was a big of an issue as Phil wanted to finish in the dark yesterday while Casey wanted to stop. Announcers were saying there was no way to read the greens in the dark. Casey asked them to stop play and that made Phil a little angry. He wanted to play 17 and then tee off on 18 before calling play. Not sure why with a three or four stoke lead.

Regardless, isn't the US Open there this June? IMHO, the most beautiful course in the USA.

Amazing how his driver speed has increased! How do you do that? This course will look totally different come June 14-17. The rough may not be cut again till July. BTW...the last day of The US Open will be Phil's 49th birthday....if he wins it will complete the career Grand Slam for him.

Phil apologized to Casey this morning for his mini hissy-fit yesterday, said he sometimes gets too focused. Said Casey did both of them a favor by having them finish up this morning. Made a point in two different interviews this morning that Casey did the right thing and that he was wrong.

I didn't think Lefty was out of line....just disagreed. The announcers made a point of saying that all players have to agree to play on...if one opts out, they delay to the next reasonable time.

Neither player was wrong in this situation. One thing Paul Casey had to think about was this he and his pro-am partner had a one shot lead in that part of the tourney. Turns out they ended up winning.

Agree and Lefty was driving so well, he wanted to play 17 and get off the tee on 18.

And with psoriatic arthritis to boot. Phil that is. The 13 handicapper had sandbagitis.

If I heard correctly, the “13 handicapper” also finished second last year. That’s REALLY SANDBAGITIS.
He looks like a guy at my club. This guy shoots an 84 and he runs and posts the score. When he shoots 75 or 76 he never posts the score. I am an 8 handicap...when I played him in a match play event 2 yrs ago I had to give him 5 shots! The dude is at worst a 6 handicap...schmuck

Unfortunately we have a few of those type characters at my club too. The guy at PB just hit way way way too many good shots.....on national television, no less.....to be a 13. Obviously 4 days in a row.....2 years in a row.....I don’t think so.

At my old club if you scheduled a time you had to post a score for that time if you finished at least 9 holes. And when you entered your score another member had to verify it. That cut back on the sandbagging, which is the worst for any tournament type formats.

3-4 years ago this guy finished third in our club champs. Shot 10 over for 45 holes. The next week he tried to get into a big tourney at a neighboring club with his 13 handicap. The pro at that club said to him, "We have the internet here, i saw your score, your a 6 handicap and you will play in that flight or not at all. BTW...no refunds!"
