Kyle Dake down a wormhole

I really enjoy Dake's wrestling. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds like a douche.
I think Burroughs time is almost up, hopefully Imar/Nolf make some serious jumps otherwise Dake will be our guy.
USAW will need a PR guy just for him.

This stuff all came out on Flo a while back too, around the time that My Best Rival cane out. Koll’s take on it all was pretty humorous. You can’t really argue with Kyle’s results—and at least functional patterns seems to do the trick. I think many here would be surprised by how much “alternative medicine” goes on in our room too.

Some things never change: Dake’s face is still imminently punchable though. Bet he wins us an olympic gold though.

A recent Flo interview with Mike Grey sounded the same. When the topic of Dake and his training views arose, Mike couldn't contain a slight wry smile and said the equivalent of "yeah, well, we get it."

The different foods for people of different skin color is certainly a new one to me. Hopefully no other room besides one with padded walls entertains that concept

Kyle is an idiot.

This guy said... out loud... That dark skin people struggle to thrive at higher latitudes. He's unbelievably obtuse human being. So glad I don't subscribe to Joseph Goebbel's Eugenics Today podcast.

I’m not more than 10 minutes in so I have gotten there yet. In his research, has he not yet discovered that Inuit people have darker skin?

I mean, Nepal is similar latitude to Daytona Beach. I wouldn’t really use either as an example of higher latitude.

Is this his way of saying he'll beat Burroughs because Ithaca is further north than Lincoln?

Of course one could also ask: if that's true, then how did Burroughs' college and international career far surpass his youth/HS career in South Jersey?

There is a good correlation between latitude and altitude, primarily temperature related. Dolly Sods Wilderness in WV is a good example where the climate is similar to southern Canada and thus similar plants, etc. to Southern Canada are found there, but not at a similar latitude with a lower elevation. Here in SC I can find typically northern hardwood trees mostly along swampy stream areas that tend to be several degrees cooler in the summer than surrounding uplands.

Read the "Sports Gene" by David Epstein. I have not listened to Dake on this podcast, he definitely has some unique views on what helps him with athletic performance, but it does work for him.

Regarding the Sports Gene, people who are indigenous to specific parts of the world can have unique genetic advantages that can help them with athletic performance. For example, genetics is a big reason why distance running is dominated by people from a specific valley in Kenya/Ethiopia. They actually have ankles that have a smaller diameter which gives them a mechanic advantage in running over distances.

Sprinting is dominated by people from a very small area of Jamica, hello Usain Bolt.

Sherpa's thrive in high altitude on Everest.

There are parts of Africa where the population has better immunity to malaria than people from other parts of the world, they are also more susceptible to sickle cell. Some kind of evolution over time.

Where Dake gets it wrong is bringing skin color into it, it's genetics.

Right. and he doesn't even get into genetics. He simply states "dark skin tones" - which is so easily scientifically refutable, I can't believe he said it out loud.

Scandinavians are the outlier.

Inuit - Dark Skin

Chukhi (northernmorst siberia) - Dark Skin

Aborigines (southernmost tip of Australia and New Zealand) - DARK SKIN.

I've never been a fan of Dake. But this is something even more pretentious than I thought possible. And he encourages the listener to "do the research."

I've said that about you for years.
You've said a lot of things for years.

Dolly sods is like an entire different world than the rest of wv. It's crazy.

Dake is a curious fellow. Supremely talented but often a little self-involved.

I propose that his new motto should be: "Why get older, when you can get younger?" And his new nickname (Kid Dynamite needs to go) should be : Benjamin Button.

he’s much more of a David Thibodeau...

How's that old saying go about "Open mouth. Insert foot." Dake should know better than saying stuff like that. I still remember when MNF brought in Rush Limbaugh for a season. He was doing a pretty good job and then he made the mistake of bringing race into the conversation. End of the experiment.

Who could have seen that coming? Lol.
