Since he put his name in the transfer portal, how long does he have to decide if he is going elsewhere or staying at PSU. Is there a deadline for those in the transfer portal?

From what I understand, it's the end of the semester in which the player decided to transfer. Essentially, schools can rescind the scholarship at the end of that semester. So, that's the timeframe.

many high profile transfers seem to exit before the spring semester so the scholie is moot. they want to get to next team spring ball to compete. otherwise they can easily wind up worse off, unless they go way down the list for a team - i.e. non-P5.

if he remains in school and on the team and has a good spring along with BW game, why would he want to transfer?
