World events and the fortunes of the "women's" kickball team should take a back seat to the big Lash Bash recruiting weekend for the next few days. JMO.

So what might be the over/under for commits this extended weekend, 2024, 2025, or 2026 recruits?

I'm going with 1 commit by next Friday.....

Michael Carroll Jr. '25 OL legacy. Seems like the type of weekend/type of recruit who will pull the trigger.

Interesting but lacking info situation occurred, I believe, this week. Staff tried to get Jaylan Hornsby to come to the Bash and perhaps had him on flip watch. Then he just shut it down.

@Richard Schnyderite believe the podcast says you broke this. Details were limited, but maybe you can speak on it now...

As of now, we aren't expecting any commitments this weekend. Carroll isn't likely to commit currently, could that change? Sure but right now it's likely not happening this weekend, but still confident he ends up at PSU when it's all said and done.

Rich, What is the status on Willor? Rumor is the staff is cool on him, do you have any scoop on that? Any idea when he may announce?

Same podcast mentioned him too. I think he's behind Harvey and Robinson in the commit pecking order right now. Similar to Cunningham, he's working on his 4th HS as well.

An offer to player in Class of 2027, an incoming high school freshman?

Based on what?
Based on the same talent evaluation they use for everyone else.

You were probably complaining when Dylan Moses got offered in 8th grade. He ended up a 5* and committed to Alabama.

Chris Henry just committed to OSU. Just finished 9th grade. Do you have a problem with their wr scouting?

That's if Hartline doesn't kill himself or others in a 3rd DUI incident by then. Lots can change.

No need for the snarky reply.

How does a player that young come to their attention and is this a strong trend in PSU recruiting?

Parents got these kids in camps all the time. Videos out there. Coaches passing names along. You show up and look good, eyes will be on you.

I think early offers is a trend PSU is adapting to. It's been written that we've jumped in late a few times and this seems to be eliminating that possibility.

You have to jump in early. Soon more fathers with a newborn baby will place a tiny football in the crib, and then film the results. If the baby tucks the ball properly in his arm or picks it up the film will be sent to coaches nationwide. From that junior will probably receive 4 or 5 offers. It’s just the nature of the business.

Yessir! I don't see why we don't recruit athletic parents and just have them farm us a team. With the right genetics, we could build a future 2041 DT prospect that is 6'4 and 330 lbs I do believe.

The problem is, I’m not, and don’t know if you are. But I don’t want to wait 18 to 20 years for this new genetically engineered and improved DLine to arrive.

Hmm. Clones? Can do do clones? Is anyone already doing clones?

Do camps weigh in more importance than actual playing time on the field? I know of a kid who barely has any high school varsity playing experience yet has a handful of D1 offers. Seems strange they would offer based off that sample.

Definitely so. Having size, speed is huge. Colleges rate kids similarly to the NFL. It's all about what can you do down the road. That's why there are kids with ginormous stats who never sniff a scholarship yet a kid with certain measurements can play his senior year and have multiple offers.

He was at a PSU camp.

It has to be a trend. Players are committing in 9th grade.

When do YOU think they should start recruiting players? Do you want to be last to offer? What is the downside of offering early?

And decommitting in 10th grade....
