In mid February a 38 year old man from Codogno Italy, just outside of Milan, is believed to be the first person infected in Italy. The 50,000 residents went on lock down, people stayed in their homes and the city was sealed from the rest of Italy.

Three weeks later the town is almost free of the virus recording only a few new cases a day, down from 50-100.

This could be a model for future pandemics. If the State of Washington had been locked down with the first patient, this contagion may have had a different path.

It will be interesting to see what protocol will develop for the next time.

I guess the summer of 2020 isn't going to be the "Summer of George!"

Codogno, Italy has population of 16,000, while state of Washington has population of 7.5 million. Going on lock down is easier with the significantly smaller population.

Actually had that nursing home not poorly handled the outbreak, like it did at least twice before with the flu, Seattle may not be the mess it is now.

I wonder how PETV (People for the Ethical Treatment of Viruses) is responding to all this. I imagine they are upset at all the hate and resistance that is coming towards COVID-19.
