LBJ:

"He was getting into the lane, and-ones, backdoors, lobs, verticality with Matthews at the peak, showing his athleticism. And then when the game started to kind of get (close) when Michigan cut it to 12, boom, he hits another backbreaker. Michigan kind of gets it to 10, boom, he shows up again. Man, listen, at the end of the day, Villanova was the best team in college basketball this year and when the National Player of the Year is on the sideline with four fouls for the majority of the second half and you're still winning? That lets you know how great of a team you are. So, Donte, obviously he was great." https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...ade-a-lot-of-money-in-ncaa-championship-game/

Lebron's comments start at about 4:37 in the video. At the end, he takes a minor shot at Michigan.

Maybe. LaRue Martin parlayed a game against Bill Walton into being a high draft pick even though is career fizzled out after 4 yeas.

But then again, Donte was playing against Michigan.....:Do_O

Martin was being evaluated by coaches and scouts, leading to his being drafted. James, as the greatest player of his era, is evaluating DiVincenzo as a potential competitor. I suspect that Lebron knows what he is talking about. However, we shall see.

How much did he make in those 4 years vs the guy that made nothing?

I am sure he does. But, the NBA is littered with guys who were a flash in the pan. Hope it all works out for everyone.

I thought for sure you would catch my jab at Michigan.

He isn’t bad for a “gym rat”, “sneaky athletic”, “coach’s son” type ;)

There are some funny threads/memes going around about the euphemisms to describe melanin-challenged athletes - even if they don’t at all fit the stereotype

Jeremy Lin said that he and John Wall were the fastest players in his draft class. Wall was considered "athletic" and Lin was considered as "deceptively athletic." https://www.christianpost.com/news/...-star-speaks-out-on-asian-stereotypes-182037/

Would add that I listened to one of the sports shows that included at least one former NBA player and they went through all the top-ranked guards in the upcoming draft and they ranked him near or at the top.

Danny Ainge was probably the most athletic NBA player of his time, yet he'd be called "scrappy."
