...the dual meet score was 20-20...
...Lehigh won on criteria - most wins 6-4...and got an additional point.... 21-20...
...hmmm...

Drexel isn't bad, but Lehigh was without Preisch, Jakobsen, and Parker. I imagine Lehigh wins by 15 or so with those guys in the lineup.

Weiler probably did better than Jakobsen would have.

I wanted to see Parker v Desanto badly. I tuned in just to see that match and Cruz v Fuentes (3-2 Cruz). Parker did not weigh in. Anyone have any idea why?

Seed protection?

Based on what I know of him and watching him during high school, and I get the coach has the final say, not in his DNA unless he is dinged up. Just my 2 cents though.

I would agree with this. The optics are bad in terms of seed protection but sometimes kids are a little banged up. He did not go in the earlier match either. Plus I don't think Lehigh thought they were in danger of losing the match. But then the backup 84 gets pinned in the third in a tie or 1 point match, their 149 cant get out of an upper body tie against a freestyle greco kid who he should be handing and their 165 gets pinned while winning the match. Kind of a perfect storm.

Come on. Seed protection, duals matter response was a typical smartassed response.

A few kids couldn't go and Drexel wrestled a good match and almost took advantage of the opportunity.

Walter uncharacteristcally gassed big time in the 3rd, taken down twice fairly easily and then headlocked in a match he mostly controlled for 2 periods.

He struggled with the mask and ripped it off near the end of the 2nd out of frustration. Strongly suspect he was having trouble breathing.

Credit the Drexel kid for capitalizing, but seriously doubt that happens again.

..."Lehigh probably wins by 15 with those guys in the lineup"...
...possibly true...
... and Penn State would likely have beaten Lehigh by 15 with Keene and Joseph in their lineup...
...but you can only play the cards you're dealt...:(

Believe the same could be said about PSU and Lehigh.
Good for Drexel.
