Lehigh-Bucknell free webcast, 7 pm tonight

Thanks for pointing this out. There are some nice matchups in this meet 25, 41, 49, possibly even 57. Lehigh has a real nice team this year and are really on the come, but Bucknell has a nice squad, even though it's probably not widely known outside of PA.

Petrov - Cruz was crazy. First period Petrov hits some funk to escape a solid shot by Darian. Cruz gives up two points to cautions (first three were consecutive to start the 2nd and kind of weak), including 2OT. Petrov 5-3 after 3OT and pumps up the crowd. Drama!!

Just a heads up for those of you not watching the feed - if you head over there you may hear another "fist to the back" tonight. Some incredible gems from the Bucknell announcer already including one in where he excitedly and prematurely declared Petrov the winner in OT on a "flinch." Another thing I didn't know that he helpfully pointed out was that you could win from neutral in S.V. with an escape, and then you would be awarded a major decision win worth 3 team points, lol.

Unfortunately, the feed went out on me in the middle of what looked like to be a Grimaldi TD of Beckman when he was down 5-4. They have now run about 12 straight commercials and in between commercials it just keeps buffering.

hmmmmm.....so right as time was expiring in regulation of the 2nd match the broadcast cut away and I have been watching "commercials" for the past 5 minutes. Anyone else have this problem?

The announcer is making the two guys from Nebraska look like geniuses. On top of that... they just went to commercial at the end of the Beckman-Gonzalez match with the scored tied and 2 and half minutes left in the 3rd period. WTFrench. Missed the entire end.

Ok...sounds like Dice is having the same problems as me. Does anyone know if Grim got the TD as time was about to expire?

Yes... Nappa. I've had commercials replaying for the last 15 mins. Missed the end of the close Gonzalez-Beckman match at 133, all of the 141, 149, 157 and the feed returned at the end of the 165 match.

The announcer is horrible. Talking about how the Bucknell 174 would scare fellow wrestlers coming off the bus. "We haven't seen this entanglement today". "He's got em' in the fetal position?" What???

Takes you back to the infamous.... Stallmate... Ruth putting in a chicken wing while he's grabbing a Nebraska wrestlers leg and of course the illegal fist to the back. o_O

If anyone can update the match, I would really appreciate it, I can only watch so many Jiffy Lube and Nova home loan commercials :)

There's just a loop of commercials through the complete middle of the match.

Nate Brown with the impressive 26-10 tech fall over Stephani of Bucknell.

Nappa... There is no doubt. Where do they find these guys? Right off the street? Is there any prerequisite to do the broadcasts? Breathing... be able able to speak... ?? Lol

"Tom Sleigh is unable to play today because of illness."

(referring to Tyler Greene) - "one of the best kept secrets in college wrestling. He's a tiger"

"Coach Wirnsberger is telling him just pretend you're wrestling your brother or dad in the backyard, or me" (Stefani wrestling Nate Brown during and injury time out)

"This is one of the great time outs a coach has called. You don't see this much" (referring to the aforementioned injury time out)

"Sudden victory - this can be won with an escape for a major decision"

(in OT, not SV) "an escape point will end the match here" (said twice)

"Cruz with a huge domination in riding time. He has 24 seconds"

"A flinch! It's a flinch!!! One point for Petrov - it's over, that'll do it"

(At the end of the first period of OT) "It's over, Petrov wins 4-3"
(When Petrov assumes the bottom position to start the 2nd period of OT) "uhhhhhhhhh, I guess Petrov has to take his turn on bottom now."

"7-3 now with 20 seconds to go. Bolich could get a major decision." (guy seemed to like major decisions, unfortunately for him there were none in the meet)

Plus, the other good ones already mentioned like "entanglement" and "Barrick's got him in the fetal position" (that was a classic)

Now I only got to watch a couple of matches because of the aforementioned problems, so I'm sure I missed quite a few more gems.

Some of these might not be entirely accurate because I'm going off memory, but you get the gist of it.

The Quentin Wright match that follows is also on YT [, same announcers--reversals from top, takedowns from bottom, and one "takearound."

Aaaah, had to rewatch this classic and although the Lehigh-Bucknell announcing was very entertaining, I'm not sure anything will ever top this performance. The fact that these guys sound so confident in all their miscalls just adds to the genius. No hesitation at all in declaring tripping your opponent to be against the rules, slips being ruled, imaginary stall points awarded, reversals from neutral, turnarounds, chicken wings on a leg, etc. For an novice wrestling viewer, they might think they are listening to two NCAA Americans announcing the match these guys are so smooth. I'm laughing again just typing this...

Just think, we at least had visual when the Ruth and Wright matches were called. Could you imagine if you were listening to it on radio. Tell me you wouldn't be seriously confused...

Amalone, at first glance I thought so too, but then looking at the roster - Stphani is listed as a RS Frosh at 174. Why with the dual tied at 12 would Bucknell send out a freshman for his first college match wrestling up a weight against a returning NCAA finalist, instead of the veteran Tom Sleigh? Curious decision by the Bucknell coaching staff?

Tom Sleigh couldn't play because of illness. Announcer said so himself.

Ah, thanks, Diceman! Sorry, I didn't have the patience to read through the Bucknell announcer mis-steps you listed above, I find them more annoying than amusing! But at least the kid was trying (I guess).

I missed this one, but I'm all about webcasts of duals. Hope to catch more as ya'll post 'em.
