I'm with you on this, play Wisconsin like they played Iowa ,with attitude, go to the Rose.

Penn St v USC in the Rose would be a great game. Hell of a consolation prize if you don't make the playoff.
I'm with you as well I think. Win the Big Ten trophy and put in the Paterno statues arms outside the stadium for a bird bath. I just keep thinking of our three freshman OL starters looking across the line at Alabama with 4 and 5 star Defensive lineman practically three deep and imagine the result. Although part of me says this is how miracles come about in sports I feel we would need one to keep up. USC would be a huge challenge as they seem to have woken up from the Sarkesian drunken slumber and remembered they have great athletes on the field. We should have beaten Pitt then there would be no arguments at all.

Nothing wrong with the Big10 conference. It has the best football teams in the country in the Big 10 East, and we are the Champions! Where else could we rule over teams like Michigan and Ohio State. We beat the best - the trophy is ours.
No. Anybody that plays any sport, plays to win. I doubt there is a single player on PSU that if they WIN the conference championship won't be disappointed and mad as hell if they don't get a shot at the big prize. That is especially true if Ohio State gets a shot. Competition and winning is what it's all about. Participation trophies, even ones as nice as the Rose bowl, are still just that.
The playoff should only have the 4 best conference WINNERS. If you can't win your conference you should not be playing for the title.
No, no no, no, no never. We play to win and we make the biggest Stink in the world if we don't get in. If we want a championship team we need to have a championship mindset which means never saying it's alright to accept the consolation prize. Basic winning 101.

Absolutely. This is a key game. Winner likely goes to the Rose Bowl to play Colorado or USC. Loser appears to be slotted for the Cotton Bowl against Western Michigan (from most bowl predictions). Rose Bowl sounds much better.

Sorry judge, but I disagree with that. I expect to play in the playoff's (provided we beat Wisc). And I hope every team in the nation hopes to play in the playoff's and not some consolation prize bowl game. We worked really hard to get where we are. We deserve to fight for a chance to play in the playoff's. What guarantee's do we have that we will reach here next season. No one can predict the future. But what we can do is deal with the present. Beat Wisc and fight hard (whatever outside source it maybe) to make it to the playoff's. We derserve it and the kids sure as hell deserve it! If that means we have to play a team like Bama in the first round....... then so be it!

Yes, I agree to beat Wisc and fight to get in CFP this year. Chance is very hard to come by to get a CFP berth. Think about the b1g refs can trip us at any game and any time.
Yup, 8 of our top 13 OL are frosh right now. Take the recruiting bump, finish the 2017 class strong. We'll be a preseason Top 10 with 18 starters returning. Use that to put together a Top 5 recruiting class for 2018.

The whipping that Alabama puts on Michigan, is going to be epic. In many ways, more damaging than if they didn't get put in, in the first place.

The only thing PSU can do is win Saturday night as it doesn't matter what is said today. Even if PSU wins Saturday night, they have to count on a CU or VT win for it to even matter. People are up in arms over PSU as the media is making it about PSU, but if Wisky wins....it never mattered.
Further, if and when this happens...we win the Rose in impressive fashion, lot of egg on the pundits and selection committee faces. Sometimes that needs to happen..unfortunately more today then ever.

Exactly...and if we draw USC???? They're the second hottest team in the country (next to us). You play to win, and yes this all moot if we lose, but you know what Urbie would be thinking right now..... Crush Wisky and make them put us in. If Franklin is who I think he is, he's thinking the same thing.

This whole season has been a giant positive. It's a building block. Penn State is the SECOND YOUNGEST TEAM IN THE NCAA and look what they have done. We are on the verge of putting together another run like in the 1980s. Or as others have said, this is 1993 when Kerry and KiJana set the stage for a monster 1994. Recruiting, momentum, positive vibes. Control what you can control, which is your mindset.

Given our o-line injuries, I'm not super passionate that we belong in the top 4 right now. Barkley hasn't been able to get anything going yet since we lost Palmer and had to re-shuffle the pieces.

I do hate this freakin conference and would love to be able to just jump ship. But as long as we keep doing it the right way, let em snub us, we know better. Damn shame to keep making 100+ kids continue to pay for perceived ills of the past.
I should just stop--there's no use fighting Judge nation just like there's no use fighting city hall . But you have to admit we have a real shot at the playoff this year with a convincing win over Wisconsin. In our division, we should maximize every opportunity we have.
