Link: Never knew Danny Ainge was a multi-athlete. Super talented

Yes, he was a pretty good athlete - when I was much younger, I remember watching him play guard for BYU in the NCAA Tournament, and then watching baseball and seeing him play for the Toronto Blue Jays. Then, I guess he focused on basketball and played for the Celtics.

Is he still the GM/President of the Celtics?

Yes, remember having his baseball card, he was what collectors called a "common".

Yes

And now looks about 78 years old. I'm thinking the Celtic General Managership has taken some years off him.

Didn’t know Danny Ainge???:eek::eek: ;) Biggest punk point guard in the NBA in the 80s. The Sixers- Celtics game’s back then were fun games to watch.

I've heard legend that Danny Ainge was so disliked among the general public that when a fight broke out during a Celtics-Sixers game and Sixers guard Sedale Threatt punched Ainge and was fined 10 K for it, it didn't cost Threatt any money because a bunch of Ainge-hating fans sent money to Threatt to pay the fine. Don't know if that's true or not.

Ainge was another tough guy. For better or for worse, he made the most of his talent.

Great multi sport athlete when young, but reality is he couldn’t hit his way out of a paper bag while in the majors. Lifetime .220 hitter with 2 home runs in over 600 career at bats with the Blue Jays. He was a much better basketball player.

I am showing my age, but I thought everyone knew about Ainge and guys like Dave Winfield (drafted by 4 pro leagues) and Dave Logan (drafted by 3 pro leagues).

Steve Nash is another fantastic all-around athlete. Very good at soccer and rugby, picked up b-ball at age 12 and became a Hall of Famer. To be honest his “ athleticism” gets overlooked because of his race and the fact he looks like Kelly Leak from the original Bad News Bears.

Anyone who is D1/Pro Caliber at Sports with multiple skills at play (e.g. Hockey and Baseball like Tom Glavine, Dave Winfield with almost everytihing) is much more impressive to me than a RB who’s also a sprinter - those 2 (or sprinter/wide receiver) are essentially the same thing but commentators drone on and on about those guys.

Peter Zezel of the Flyers was a fantastic soccer and hockey player as well - 2 radically different skill sports

‘Punk’ meaning hard nosed, efficient player you want on your team. :)

Ugh. Can’t tell the Harrelsons apart without a scorecard.
Don't forget Woody.

Used to hate him because he was such a whiner on the court. But looking back, he was a great player and underrated. Bird, Parrish, McHale were the ones we watched but Ainge was special too.

Maybe you have reading comprehension issues. If you follow the links, it shows that Danny Ainge wan't a "pretty good" athlete. He was an exceptional athlete. About as exceptional as it gets. You post pics of half nude girls while claiming to be a sjw though, so...

Do you have shit for brains?
Geez, you’re a Grade-A jerk.

What is an sjw?

Going way back. 49er qb John Brodie won a PGA Seniors Tour Event. Also, Mike Souchak was a very good football player (pretty sure All American in college) and won on the regular tour.
Whoa, didn't know either of those names. Thanks for the Friday afternoon slow workday filling material you just gave me.
