NOW 4-1, and Liriano with 12 K's through 6 innings. Looks like he's done for the day, with 110+ pitches. Lots of K's = Lots of pitches.

I've got family over for a cookout and we've got the game on. Very nice outing for Liriano so far. This is what I expected from this team from the beginning.

10 k's in the 5th inning..... HOLY CRAP.....that means at least 8 wild pitches or passed balls on the third strike!

Not as many as you would think. He had a good many K's looking. And the run that scored should have been K'd as well. That batter took a 3rd strike that the ump did not call (in the zone, not on the corner) and the guy walked and eventually scored.

ZOOM, the game was IN the 5th inning. i.e. the 5th inning was not over. Liriano might have struck out another, as I believe there were 2 outs in the 5th when I posted it.

Heck of a weekend for the Pirates and Cutch. The Big 3 Cole, Burnett and Liriano all come through. Kang is hitting .304. Keep it going.
