this is painful to watch. no offensive sets just pass the ball and launch a 3.Shooting 3 of 17 so far.

Time to switch channels and watch something else
This is ugly ugly basketball
It looks like it's basically the same as the last five years with some better athletes. You would think there would be some improvement so far, but there really hasn't been.Won by 13. Not sure what to make of this team.

Same sh!t, different day.Cue wbcincy to tell you that you need to be patient, that Chambers has the program on the right track, and you otherwise don't know what you're talking about.
I see a lot of raw talent on this team but we really lack a big body. Nobody to score in the paint with their back to the basket. Nobody to clog up the middle on defense. A B1G team should be able to beat a team like Colgate by 20+ points just by pounding the ball inside an imposing their strength on opponents. We just don't have that right now. Our best hope is for Watkins to grow into that role now that Hampton is gone.
Banks seems to be playing with more composure. Carr has a lot of upside. Same for Watkins, Stevens, etc. Samuels looks like he can play too. It's just going to take time.
I'm surprised by the defensive strategy. Trapping on almost every possession. Colgate breaks the press and from there it's easy to get into the paint. I guess Chambers wants to go high tempo all game long, be willing to give something up on defense and hope to outscore opponents.
Did they recruit any true shooters? That's been Bob Huggins' problem for years...he recruits really good athletes who can't shoot. They have got to solve the shooting problems. Supposedly they shoot well in practice, but not in games. They had a lot of good looks last night, but it wasn't going in the hoop. It wasn't like Colgate was contesting all of the shots... there was a lot of ball movement to find the open man at times. That's their biggest problem, aside from they're still learning to play with each other.
Not really. Davis was supposed to be a shooter, but in games he's not proven to be able to hit them in large numbers. The rest are quality players that do a lot of things well, but we don't have that one, go-to scorer.Did they recruit any true shooters?
