NO, Franklin will be judged the same as Joe by NC's, which Joe had 6, and undefeated seasons which Joe had 5. Franklin has 0 of each so far. Get back to me when he has one of either one.

Exactly. The low buyout in Franklin's contract represents Franklin's leverage with PSU. If he were a lesser coach there would be a bigger buyout. Being able to walk whenever he wants for any job he wants gives him maximum leverage with the university to get the university to spend money on facilities. Clearly facilities are a huge issue for him -- he talks all the time about how PSU's facilities are good, every other competing school is pouring money into catching up or surpassing PSU. It's am arms race and PSU has to participate if they want to remain competitive.
