Long Wittlake interview from TheMat - numerous Cael mentions

Is a verbal considered silent if given, but nobody hears it? Thanks
Silent implied verbal or silent, silent verbal.

Time soon for Cael to bring out the heavy test line to reel in another lunker from the West Coast. If he grows to 184, he might fit perfectly with a redshirt year.

If Cael shows up in your living room and he is already your idol/role model, are you saying "No Thanks" to 159-0 winning 5 of last 6 guiding a program with access to Elite Training Club with a proud academic university home to largest alumni networking unit in country with a scenic, safe beautiful town which may resemble where you live? Oh by the way,mom and dad probably don't mind his core values either. And we happen to have an opening for a 4 year starter at your exact projected weight following a year to redshirt/adjust and workout with the future of U.S.A wresting(Wreck Hall). That's just some of what I may think about as a recruit

Well I can see that my Wittlake to Iowa in future lineup projections seems like a pipe dream lol. I had no idea of his interests or anything at that point, but it seems like PSU is firmly in the drivers seat for landing him, would be a good get for you guys.

Up-and-coming high school Junior. Time will tell.

Recruiting is still bizarre though as you know. Sometime a guy shows up and immediately knows it's home - pretty much what Hall said.

The early interest is cool though - gives me a real reason to search his matches out - as you guys are doing with Lee and Teasdale. Most know how good they are but don't really KNOW until there's a real reason to really study their matches besides general wrestling fandom.

Wouldn't be so quick to write him off. PSU also in on Beard. Karoly is also as decorated as Wittlake and he just transferred to Malvern - no idea of where he is interested in, but one of the reasons he gave for transferring was so he could work out with Beard again. Highly doubt they would take 3 upper weights in one class (unless one was coming for free) and possibly even 2 stretches money considering they are most likely redshirts because you have Nickal & Rasheed with 3 years left, Joseph and Hall with 4 - all those guys project in the same weight range.

Things can change fast in recruiting. Chad Red looked like he really wanted to be here, but when it came to money time - he's in Nebraska.

Pretty big recruiting advantage when the results are on display, and you don't have to sell so much as show. Lots of kids will have spent formative grade school and early high school years watching PSU win national titles and trying to copy Cael, DT, Ruth, and now Zain, Nolf, Bo. Success breeding success bodes well for the future.

Wittlake fits in nicely. Mid/upper weight just after Bo leaves, still learning from Wreck.

I think he fits in in other ways. One big reason I enjoy cheering for Cael built teams is the type of characters he recruits and brings in. Nick Lee is a perfect example. He's a beast yet is very respectful to his opponents and works hard in the classroom. Wit take seems like the same type of a kid.
