You might want to try Tour 18 near the IAH airport on the north side of town. They have replicas of some of the most famous holes in golf, including Amen Corner from Augusta. Check the websites to see if the course condition is good, because sometimes in the summer it can get sketchy if they have a stretch of tough weather (dry or wet).

Tour 18 is great...another course to consider is Wildcat Golf Club.

36 holes - Highlands Course and the Lake Course. I played Highlands in May...really enjoyed. Has some actual elevation change to it - which you won't find much of in Houston. Nice track.

When are you planning on visiting and where, in general, are you staying? Houston is currently 104-109 degrees and doesn't really cool off to tolerable temperatures until late October or early November when the first authentic cool front moves through the area.

Although I no longer live there, I used to play a lot of golf in Houston in my early post-PSU years and might be able to offer some advice. I know there are a number of new courses that have been built recently, but I think they are a good distance from the inner loop.

My recommendation is to hit the ball straight..... and this should apply to Houston and pretty much everywhere....
